Summary

As Goku faces off against Moro in his Ultra Instinct "Sign" form, Merusu and Whis watch from Beerus's planet using Whis's staff. Merusu wonders what Goku is doing, and Whis says it looks like Goku has changed his strategy; they will both be fighting at full power. On the sidelines, No. 17, No. 18, Jaco, Piccolo, and Gohan brace themselves as Goku and Moro power up.

Goku manages to push Moro back with his power, and then Moro gathers an energy ball to throw at Goku, but Goku attacks before he can throw it, knocking the ball skyward. Then Moro grabs Goku by the leg and tries to slam him against the ground, but Goku recovers and uses his leg to throw Moro flying. Then he attacks Moro with rapid fire blasts; Moro blocks and they fight hand to hand again.

On Beerus's planet, Merusu worries that Goku will not be able to keep up this form for long at full power. Whis says that even if Goku had followed his advice and conserved his energy to maintain the form for longer, he would not be able to do much against Moro. On the battlefield, after Goku gets in a good blow, Moro thinks that if this is truly the extent of Goku's power, he has nothing to worry about. Whis asks Merusu if Moro is stronger than he expected, and Merusu admits that he is. Whis thinks that Goku must have sensed that too, hence his decision to use his full power. Saiyans are known for getting stronger in the face of impossible odds, especially Goku. Whis then looks at the sky and adds, Vegeta too.

On Planet Yardrat, Vegeta finally masters the technique that he has been working on all this time, apparently using Hatsuka and his clones as a test subject. Pybara congratulates Vegeta and then heals Hatsuka. Vegeta observes that Earth is still in one piece; it looks like he will make it in time. He asks Pybara to teleport him to Earth, but Pybara tells him he cannot. Vegeta is shocked, and Hatsuka explains that they are forbidden from using teleportation to travel off Planet Yardrat. Pybara adds that they can only travel to the location of someone they have met before. Vegeta reminds him that he has met Goku, but Pybara is unable to sense him at this time, for some reason. He asks Vegeta if he knows why. Vegeta says he must be using Ultra Instinct, which means he can only be sensed by the gods. Iriko asks Vegeta what they should do; it will take ten days for them to get to Earth in his spaceship. Vegeta tells Pybara to teach him now to teleport; he promises he will master it faster than anyone else ever has.

On the battlefield, Goku is starting to lose steam. Moro gains the advantage, and after knocking Goku around a bit, he tells him that he has clearly reached his limit, though he admits he is impressed that Goku managed to amass that much power. Goku tells him that he is not done yet; Moro does not get to decide when this fight is over. He powers up some more and attacks again, but Merusu, still watching, knows this will not work. If he relies on power he will not be able to fully take advantage of Ultra Instinct's advantages. After Moro knocks Goku down with a mouth blast, Whis says it does not look like they will be witnessing any miracles today. Merusu is distraught. Beerus reminds Whis that he is hungry; he wants something tasty. Whis puts away his staff, and Merusu desperately reminds him that the fate of Earth and many other planets hangs in the balance. Whis in turn reminds Merusu that the birth and death of planets is just part of the cycle of the universe, and they cannot meddle too much in the natural flow of events. Merusu says he understands this, but... Whis adds that only Beerus and the Kaiōshin can make the decision to interfere; angels cannot, and he should never forget that.

Goku has now lost his Ultra Instinct form and Moro is pummeling him mercilessly while Goku's friends panic on the sidelines. Moro decides that is enough; it is time to consume Goku's energy. He starts collecting it, and then he is attacked by Nos. 17 and 18. No. 18 tells him to try eating their energy instead; No. 17 warns him that they do not actually have any. Moro is impressed that this planet has the technology to create Artificial Humans.

On Planet Yardrat, Vegeta struggles to learn teleportation. He disappears, and Iriko cheers, thinking he has successfully learned the technique, but then Vegeta appears in a garbage can behind them, and he does not look happy. Hatsuka tells him that he is doing it all wrong; he has to lock onto the target's spirit. Frustrated, Vegeta says he only needs this to work once; he does not care if he can never do it again. Just then, he feels the return of Goku's ki; Pybara notices it too, and asks why it showed up again. Vegeta realizes that if he has lost Ultra Instinct, he must have lost to Moro. Pybara says that since it is an emergency, he will break their rules to take Vegeta to Earth since he can sense Goku now, but Vegeta tells him to wait; he has a feeling he can pull it off. He puts his fingers to his forehead and concentrates. Then he tells Pybara and Hatsuka that he appreciates everything they did for him,[a] and Hatsuka tells him good luck. Pybara congratulates him on enduring their training and wishes him confidence for the fight. Vegeta concentrates, and everyone looks on nervously. Iriko suggests that maybe he should just let Pybara do it after all, but then Vegeta disappears. Hatsuka says he really did it, and Pybara confirms that Vegeta's spirit is now on Earth. He is amazed that Vegeta could learn the technique so quickly. Hatsuka thinks Vegeta must be a prodigy, but Pybara says his achievements are all the product of his training. If he is a prodigy, he is one born of hard work.

Nos. 17 and 18 attack Moro again, but they are unable to damage him even with Chō Den'atsu Bakuretsu Zan. Moro is impressed with their power, though, and says it is a shame he cannot steal it. No. 18 complains that it is like fighting a lump of steel, and No. 17 agrees; even their strongest attacks barely make him flinch. Gohan asks Piccolo if they should join in, and Piccolo reminds him that Moro would just absorb their energy and use it to get even stronger.

Goku watches the fight, frustrated that it has come to this. But then, Vegeta appears in front of him. Vegeta tells Goku hello, and Gohan and Piccolo are excited to see that he has arrived. Vegeta tells Goku he looks pathetic and asks if Ultra Instinct turned out to be worthless. Goku ignores him and asks if he really just used teleportation, and Vegeta tells him not to worry; he has no intention of stealing his technique. He probably could not pull it off again anyway. He tells Goku he has learned a superior technique of his own. Then he tells Nos. 17 and 18 to back off; it is his turn.

Moro welcomes Vegeta to the fight, and Vegeta tells him that time has not made him any prettier, and asks if he enjoys tormenting the weak. Moro says he is not wrong; while Vegeta and Goku were hiding, he might have become too powerful, and he has grown weary of planets that have no fighters to match him. Vegeta tells him there is no reason to worry about that, then he powers up to Super Saiyan Blue. Gohan recognizes the form and asks Piccolo what has changed since the Tournament of Power, but Piccolo does not know. Then Vegeta attacks.
