All of the artificial humans seen throughout the manga series were created by the scientist Doctor Gero. The first eight were created as weapons for his employer, the Red Ribbon Army, but most of them were deemed defective. After the army's destruction, all artificial humans were created with the sole purpose of getting revenge on Son Goku.

Humans
Human Characters
The general human is the most numerous kind of Earthling. The majority of the populous go about their days without any idea or thought of the grave events that have occurred. They mostly have no unique powers, but there are also some who have acquired exceptional abilities.

Martial Artists
Martial Artist Characters
Although the majority of humans have no unique powers, many are shown to have mastered martial arts skills through intensive training. While some have mastery of basic skills and techniques, others have advanced far beyond any normal human limits, like Kuririn, Kame-Sen'nin, or Tao Pai-pai, and can even manipulate ki.

Monster-types
Monster-type Characters
These are Earthlings who fit into neither the Animal-type nor Human categories. They have distinctive appearances, like Mummy-kun and Suke-san who Goku and co. fought at Uranai Baba's palace. Some possess mysterious powers, while others have no unique abilities.

Red Ribbon Army
Red Ribbon Army Characters

Robots
Robot Characters
Throughout the "Dragon World" there are numerous robots built to help assist Earthling's in their everyday lives. However, some have been designed with malicious intent and will attack at will.

Aliens, or extraterrestrials, in the "Dragon World" are beings not originally from the Planet Earth. After Akira Toriyama had exhausted all of the Earth's strongest warriors, he decided to expand to the rest of the universe. From that point on, the series was never the same. Toriyama was now able to create a much wider variety of characters at will, specifically ridiculously strong opponents for Goku and friends to face off against. In addition, many of the Earth's greatest warriors turned out to be aliens themselves, including the main protagonist, Son Goku. A relatively peaceful alien race whose existence was revealed through the arrival of Piccolo Daimaō on Earth. Most Namekians are divided up into Dragon Clan members, those who are the basic variety of Namekian, and specific warrior-types who are birthed by the Eldest to protect each village. In addition there are members of the "Demon Clan", a small group that was exiled due to the evil that had stained their hearts.

While the majority of them are quite powerful in their own right, they are not necessarily the strongest beings in the universe, with many of the Z Warriors surpassing them. Like many hierarchies, each divine figure oversees a specific region and reports to a superior that oversees those collective regions. In a Dragon Ball Z anime-only filler story arc, the Dai Kaiō is shown to oversee the Afterlife Tournament, held between numerous deceased warriors from the universe's four galaxies. The Saiyan are a warrior race that have come to shape the universe's history through their superior battle power. They are excited at the arrival of a strong opponent, and they heartily enjoy grand battles. The more intense the battle, the happier they feel. They are certainly a race that was born to fight.
