Ag is a fictional character in the Japanese animated television series Dragon Ball Super and its companion manga series written by Toyotarō. Ag makes his debut in Dragon Ball Super Episode 78, broadcast on 12 February 2017 on Fuji TV, as the Kaiōshin of Universe Twelve.

Biography

Ag, a Kaiōshin known for saying virtuous things, aimed to take his already-mature universe to greater heights in the Tournament of Power.[1][2] Ag sees his universe's exemption from the tournament as an affirmation of his superiority as a god.[3]

Name

Ag's name pun is unknown, but many Kaiōshin appear to have been named after deities, and Agni (アグニ/Aguni), the fire god of Hinduism and Indo-European mythologies, is a likely source for his name.

Performance

Ag is voiced by Yasuhiro Takato, whose roles include Botamo in Dragon Ball Super and Gurd and Yamu in Dragon Ball Kai. In the Funimation dub, Ag is voiced by Anthony Bowling who has voiced several minor, semi-credited roles in Kai and Super.
