Casserale is a fictional character in the Japanese animated television series Dragon Ball Super and its companion manga series written by Toyotarō. Casserale makes his debut in Dragon Ball Super Episode 85, broadcast on 09 April 2017 on Fuji TV, as a member of the Pride Troopers of Universe 11.

Biography

Casserale is a brave warrior known as the "General" with a lengthy military service. He can turn his energy into a weapon by concentrating it in both hands. He was shot off the ring by Caulifla and Kale's energy wave.[1]

Tournament of Power

Casserale's anime character design for the Tournament of Power.[1]

Shortly after the Zen Exhibition Match, Casserale encounters Toppo in a jazz lounge. Noticing that Toppo is brooding, Casserale asks him what is the matter, and Toppo is surprised to find the General is sitting next to him. Casserale tells him that he is a leader and he should be putting on a better face for the people who look up to him. His grim face will only frighten them. Toppo vaguely tells Casserale that the future of those people rests on their shoulders. Casserale is alarmed. He knows that Toppo went to see the Omni-Kings with Vermoud, and he asks Toppo to tell him what happened there, but just then, Toppo receives an urgent distress signal on his wristwatch.

Toppo and Casserale take off at full speed for Planet Daldon, which is under attack by a space monster. The Dorakiyans have decided to claim Planet Daldon. One of their number is using the monster Araghne to terrorize the planet. The Pride Trooper Dispo fights them alone, and the Dorakiyan controlling Araghne says he wants to destroy the Pride Troopers, too. Dispo is eventually captured by Araghne, and just as he is about to be eaten, he is rescued by Toppo and Casserale. The three of them introduce themselves formally with special poses and proclaim that they will now defeat evil.

Toppo attacks Araghne with kicks and then with Justice Flash. Casserale and Dispo team up with kicks and a Double Cannon Maximum, disabling Araghne. The Dorakiyan cannot believe Araghne was defeated, but then Toppo appears behind him, telling him that they have zero tolerance for his actions, picks him up and tosses him into Araghne's gaping maw. Toppo destroys them both with fire and proclaims that as long as the Pride Troopers around, the light of freedom will never disappear.

On the flight home, Toppo tells the others about the Tournament of Power and its consequences, and both are sobered by the news. Toppo tells them he wants to summon Pride Troopers from other planets, and Dispo says they will need Jiren for this. Toppo agrees, and says that Jiren is currently training.[2]

Name

Casserale's name is likely derived from the katakana rendering of "casserole" (キャセロール/kyaserōru), used to refer to a casserole dish. This name pun follows the theme of the Pride Troopers being named after items found in a kitchen.

Performance

Casserale is voiced by Unshō Ishizuka, best known as the second voice of Mister Satan. In the Funimation dub, Casserale is voiced by Tyson Rinehart in his first role for the Dragon Ball franchise.
