"Goku Dies! There's Only One Chance Left" is the fifth episode of the Japanese animated television series Dragon Ball Z. The episode first aired in Japan on Fuji TV on 24 May 1989, receiving a ratings share of 16.4%. It was written by series organizer Takao Koyama and directed by Kazuhisa Takenōchi.
Synopsis
Gohan bursts from the spaceship and launches himself at Raditz, managing to crack the Saiyan's armor. However, following the attack Gohan immediately reverts to his more docile state. Raditz decides to kill Gohan, but Goku sneaks up from behind and immobilizes Raditz. At Goku's insistence, Piccolo once again fires his Makankōsappō, which pierces both Goku and Raditz. Standing over the dying Raditz, Piccolo boasts that the Dragon Balls will most likely be used to resurrect Goku, causing Raditz to remark that the two remaining Saiyans will now most likely head to earth to attain the Dragon Balls for themselves. Bulma and the others arrive in time to witness Goku pass away.
