Summary

At God's Temple, Kuririn is a little overwhelmed by the news of everything that has been going on. Bulma concludes by saying that the Galactic Patrol needs all the help it can get, and she asks where Gohan and Tenshinhan are. Kuririn tells her that Gohan is at one of his university lectures, but he will come by after it is done. Tenshinhan does not have a mobile phone, so they have no way to contact him. Bulma finds it odd that anyone would not have a phone these days. Kuririn asks Piccolo if he should contact Yamcha, but before he can answer, Jaco arrives and chastises Bulma for not gathering enough people. Bulma tells him that Kuririn was the only one who could come, since he has nothing better to do, and Kuririn is offended.

From Jaco's ship, Esca calls out to Dende, who is happy to see him and glad he is safe. Jaco complains that this "brat" tagged along when he said he was coming to Earth. Piccolo asks if he was the only one who made it, and Jaco confirms that they are the last three surviving Namekians. Esca tells Dende that he is ready to fight for peace in the galaxy, and to restore Namek; he tells them to let him know what he can to do help. Meanwhile, the Macareni Gang is all caged up nearby, and Pastar thinks it is funny that they think they can challenge Moro. They can obey or be killed; there is no other option. Jaco is surprised to see them here; he tells Pastar that he has never met anyone who more belonged in a cage. As soon as this is all over, they are going back to Galactic Prison. Pastar informs him that the main force will be here any day now; Jaco panics, asking Piccolo if he let them contact Moro, and Piccolo acknowledges his mistake. Jaco says he will contact Galactic Patrol Headquarters to confirm who is coming their way.

On another scout ship, Yunba, Shimorekka, and OG73-i discuss their orders to head to Earth. They have never heard of it, but Yunba hopes they have good food. Shimorekka is annoyed that Yunba cannot think of anything else, but Yunba is tired of eating food bars. Seven-Three tells them Earth is Planet 4032 Green-877.[a] It is the third planet from its star in the outskirts of the northern sector; the planet is still in the developmental stage and has little value. Yunba takes this to mean there will not be any good food, but Seven-Three tells him this data predates their arrest by the Galactic Patrol, so it might be outdated. Shimorekka thinks it sounds like a boring rock. Yunba demands they find somewhere to stop for food; he cannot wait any longer. Shimorekka agrees to make a quick stop.

On Earth, Jaco gets a report from headquarters; they have identified occupants of the ship headed for Earth. Jaco is alarmed to learn that Seven-Three is with them. Kuririn asks who that is, and Jaco tells everyone that all three are Saganbo's henchmen, members of an infamous brigade of galactic bandits who were captured only with great difficulty. Bulma asks if he was the one to capture them, but Jaco admits it was Merusu. Kuririn thinks they should be fine with Piccolo and Gohan; Jaco enthusiastically agrees and tells them he will be off now. If they survive, he will be back to recruit them later. Bulma insists that he should stay and fight, and she grabs his leg as he tries to get in his spaceship. Jaco protests that he only came to pick up new recruits, but he is the only one who knows anything about these guys so Bulma thinks he should stay and help. Kuririn realizes Jaco is trying to escape because he is not strong enough to beat these guys. Jaco admits this is true. Piccolo asks Jaco to tell them everything he knows about these guys before he leaves, so Jaco concedes and tells them OG73-i is the main one to watch out for...

On an unidentified planet, Yunba eats and Shimorekka naps while Seven-Three subdues the natives who attack with porcupine-like spines growing from their heads and backs. He grabs one of them by the back of the neck, strangling him; the native's face then appears in the center crystal on Seven-Three's forehead. Seven-Three grows his own spines and attacks the other natives.

Back on Earth, Kuririn asks Jaco what he means by a "copy ability"; Jaco explains that Seven-Three can steal other people's powers by grabbing the backs of their necks, and he will retain these powers for thirty minutes. Piccolo asks him to clarify that it is not about hijacking bodies or brainwashing; Jaco says that Seven-Three is already quite strong on his own, and the stolen powers just give him an extra boost. Bulma asks what kind of being he is; Jaco says he is an Artificial Human designed on a planet with advanced technology and science. He has no emotions or feelings; he is just a killing machine who obeys his allies' orders.

Back on the porcupine planet, Seven-Three notices some of the natives opening up a portal to another world to escape. On Earth, Kuririn asks Jaco how long they have, and Jaco says about ten days. Kuririn figures he had better train, and asks Piccolo what he will do. Piccolo says that he never stops training. But just then, Seven-Three opens up a portal to God's Temple, bringing along Yunba and Shimorekka. Kuririn asks who these guys are, and Jaco blurts out "Seven-Three!!" Everyone panics. Shimorekka explains that they were lucky enough to visit a planet where Seven-Three could steal the power to create warp portals. It would have taken days to get there by spaceship.

Seven-Three points out the Macareni Gang in their cage. Jaco tells them to stop in the name of the law, and Shimorekka recognizes him from the Galactic Patrol, but he cannot remember his name. Seven-Three tells him it is Jaco, and Shimorekka asks Jaco why he is here. Surely he was not the one to capture the Macareni Gang, no small feat. Jaco angrily insists that he did, in fact, capture the Macareni Gang,[b] and tells them to think twice about trying to save them. Pastar asks Shimorekka to let them out anyway, so Shimorekka delivers a message from Moro: "Traitors acting on their own are dispensable." Shimorekka moves to kill them, but Piccolo grabs his arm and says that killing is not allowed in the sanctuary, and evildoers are not allowed on Earth. He tells them to be gone, but Shimorekka glances at Seven-Three and then the android appears behind Piccolo, grabbing the back of his neck.

Having copied Piccolo's abilities, Seven-Three releases him. Piccolo asks what he did, but Jaco knows. Shimorekka encourages Seven-Three, and he attacks Piccolo with a Makankōsappō. Piccolo dodges, and the beam pierces all the way through the temple. Shimorekka compliments Piccolo's techniques, and Jaco yells at Piccolo for allowing this to happen. Then Seven-Three attacks with extendable arms, tossing Jaco off the edge of the temple; Piccolo flies down after him, and Shimorekka and Seven-Three follow. Kuririn goes to join them, but Yunba grabs his leg; Kuririn will have to get past him if he wants to go anywhere.

Just before Piccolo reaches him, Jaco uses his jet boots to right himself to land safely. Piccolo seems annoyed that Jaco could fly all along, but Jaco says he can only do it for short bursts.[c] He is still annoyed that Piccolo allowed Seven-Three to grab him after he was warned, and Piccolo apologizes for being sloppy. He asks Jaco if he has any more insights, and Jaco tells him that Seven-Three's techniques will be just as strong as his, no different than if he had done it. Same for hand-to-hand combat. Piccolo says he will assume he is fighting someone with the same battle power as himself.[d]

Seven-Three attacks with extendable arms and Piccolo meets him halfway with his own extendable arms. Seven-Three pulls Piccolo into a headbutt, and then they fight hand-to-hand. On the sidelines, Shimorekka swoops in to swipe Jaco's gun; Jaco is angry that he dared to steal his sidearm, worth as much as an agent's life. He hops over to steal it back, but Shimorekka dodges him. Meanwhile, Seven-Three and Piccolo fight evenly, but then Seven-Three attacks with a Mouth Kikōha. Jaco takes a moment to warn Piccolo that Seven-Three has infinite stamina.

At the temple, Kuririn is surprised that a guy of Yunba's size has such sharp attacks. Bulma tells Mister Satan to go help him, and Satan squares up. He goes in with spinning arms, but Yunba flips to the other side of the temple, then jumps up into the air and turns himself into a spinning wrecking ball. He barely misses Satan as he punches Kuririn through the bottom of the temple.[e] Bulma suggests they get in her ship and follow them.

On the surface, Piccolo's battle with Seven-Three has come to a Makankōsappō struggle with a giant ball of energy at the center. Piccolo not happy to be beaten by his own techniques. Jaco reminds him that he only has to hold out for thirty minutes, but Piccolo does not think he will last that long. Seven-Three's beam overcomes Piccolo's, and Piccolo disappears. Jaco wonders if he was blown to bits, but it turns out that Piccolo was rescued by Gohan, still in his work clothes. Jaco is happy to see that Goku's son has arrived. Piccolo thanks him, and Gohan apologizes for being late. He asks what is going on, and Piccolo says the most important thing is to not let that guy grab him by the neck, or his powers will be copied, and he is the strongest fighter they have. Gohan takes off his glasses, surmising that his dad and Vegeta must be off-world.

Indeed, on an uninhabited world far from Earth, Goku is training with Merusu inside a dimension similar to the Room of Spirit and Time. Goku is very much outmatched, and after Merusu exhausts him, he is beginning to doubt that he ever managed to use Ultra Instinct. Merusu asks if he was in an extreme crisis when it was activated, and Goku confirms it was a life-or-death situation. Merusu says he should replicate those conditions, then. Goku asks if that means he should be prepared to die during this training, and Merusu says yes, exactly that. Goku says he had better come at him to kill, then.

On Planet Yardrat, Vegeta meditates atop a spire. He asks how many days this will take, and Elder Pybara tells him that his spirit is even less stabilized than Goku's had been. First, he must achieve balance in body and mind. The other Yardratian tells him that Goku was up there for 150 days. Vegeta is alarmed, and Pybara chides him for allowing his balance to be disrupted again. Vegeta is starting to regret coming here...

Notes

Rolling Thunder Punch[5]
  1. This designation for Earth is first used in Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods when Whis uses his staff to search for the planet where most of the surviving Saiyans are living.
  2. It was Piccolo, in the previous chapter.[1]
  3. In Jaco the Galactic Patrolman, Jaco explains that these boot propellors are for emergency use and will only work once.[2]
  4. The Viz translation reads, "So I must think of it as fighting an exact copy of myself." That translation has the unfortunate effect of appearing to reference Piccolo's anime-only ability to make a copy of himself to train with, but that is not what Piccolo said.
  5. Mister Satan's technique looks suspiciously like Gotenks's Rolling Thunder Punch, using both arms. Satan's technique is not explained, but the following sequence with Yunba seems to reference the fight between Gotenks and Majin Boo that tore apart God's Temple.[3][4]
