Notes

  • Also credited as 八島義孝 and, 八島喜孝.
  • Credited as 八島善彦, in Rescueman #31.
  • Credited as 八嶋善孝 in Fist of the North Star Movie.
  • He is known for his “Yashima Faces” on characters. They are a big tell if something is his work or not. For ex, His output in Dragon Ball Super[5]
  • Another thing he is known for is his speed, Naotoshi Shida described it by saying, "Mr. Yashima can use 50 times Kaioken!"[6].
  • He solos a lot of his episodes, doing Animation Supervision and animation work by himself. He is said to be able to do about 330 cuts in a month[7], which is about an entire episode worth of cuts.
  • Since he often does solo work, it is not bizzare to see him correcting himself[8].
  • Lastly, as for his work on Dragon Ball Z Episode 170, he did the entire 1st half of the episode[9]. As to why he is uncredited for doing such a huge chunk of an episode is unknown.
