Synopsis
Summary
With Goku now Super Saiyan God, he and Beerus take off into the air to finally begin their rematch. Gohan is worried because he cannot sense his father's ki, but Whis explains that this shows Goku truly has become a god. On Kaiō's planet, the Elder Kaiōshin telepathically contacts Kaiō to complain about this latest development. If Beerus fights seriously, the universe will be in grave danger. Kaiō is slightly more optimistic though, as even if Goku has become Super Saiyan God, he doubts that will be enough to make Beerus fight seriously. Back on Earth, as the fight begins Goku has trouble moving properly. He is still not used to his new power, and has trouble controlling it. To test it out a bit, he fires a Kamehameha, which creates massive waves that violently rock the cruise ship. On board, Piccolo angrily demands that Goku not forget that they are nearby. Now a little more used to his power, Goku begins attacking Beerus, but none of his punches connect, and Beerus knocks him into the sea.
At first, everyone on board the cruise ship wonders if Goku might be dead. Unable to sense his ki, they have no way of telling. Fortunately though, Goku shoots back up out of the water and he and Beerus continue fighting far away. Bulma and the gang crowd into an airship on board so that they can chase after the pair and watch the battle. Dr. Brief and some others stay behind, and Pilaf, Shuu, and Mai come out on deck just in time to see them waving Bulma and co. off. They wonder if they're too late and the party is already over. Pilaf laments that not only can they not find the Dragon Balls, but all the food seems to be gone too. Whis appears though and tells them not to worry, he has ordered second helpings. Up in the sky the fight continues, and as Goku gets even more used to his new form, he begins landing some hits on Beerus. Beerus is happy, since he is finally starting to enjoy the fight. However, neither side is giving the fight anywhere near their all yet. Back on the ship, the Pilaf Gang have stuffed themselves full of food and lay down to sleep it off.
Episode Notes
- Although Whis reinforces the idea that non-gods cannot sense a god's ki, his statement in the episode also indicates that while Super Saiyan God is not "the same" as Beerus or the Kaiōshin, he seems sure that Goku has at least become the "same level of god" (同等の神; 'dōtō no kami').

Availability
This episode has been released in numerous countries and languages around the world in both streaming and physical formats. "Simulcast" streaming services (even Funimation) use the Toei Animation subtitles rather than the Funimation subtitles by Steven J. Simmons, while digital purchase platforms use the Simmons subtitles that are provided on the Funimation DVDs and Blu-rays.
Streaming debut dates only apply to the subtitled simulcast. Dubbed episodes were to Funimation's streaming service a few weeks after the dub broadcast, and to AnimeLab around the time of the Madman home video release. Simulcast dates reflect regional time zones. The United Kingdom was originally covered by the now-defunct Daisuki streaming service until Crunchyroll added the UK to their Dragon Ball Super coverage area on 30 May 2017.
