Udō is a fictional character in the ninth Dragon Ball Z film, The Galaxy at the Brink!! The Super Incredible Guy. Udō is a competitor in the Tenka'ichi Dai Budōkai.
Biography
Udō is a large man who competes in the Tenka'ichi Dai Budōkai, successfully making his way through the preliminary battles. Udō faces Son Gohan in the first semi-finals match. Though he is annoyed and confident he will win having to face a child, he is easily foot-swept out of the ring (and, furthermore, through a cliff).[1]
Name
Udo's name is likely taken from the aralia cordata plant (独活, udo in Japanese), and in particular the phrase udo no taiboku, meaning a "good-for-nothing" (since the Udo plant is not very sturdy, much like the character being easily knocked out of the ring by Gohan).
