Redict is a fictional character in the Japanese animated series Dragon Ball GT. Redict makes his debut in episode 4, which debuted on Fuji TV on 28 February 1996, as the power behind Don Kia, the dictator-king of Planet Imegga.
Biography

Redict is a prideful warrior whose wish is to fight someone strong.[1] When Trunks, Goku, and Pan are escaping Kia Palace with their spaceship, Don Kia's bodyguards Gel and Shila attack them with a combination energy beam. Goku overwhelms their beam with a Kamehameha, but Redict steps in to deflect it, and seems to recognize Goku as a Saiyan. Afterward, Don Kia reprimands Gel and Shila for the stolen spaceship and damaged dock; for as much as he pays them to be bodyguards, they are worthless. Redict is offended, so Don Kia assures him that he was only talking about Gel and Shila.[2]
After learning how Don Kia captures space travelers and forces them into servitude, the Earth trio allow themselves to be arrested so they can enter the palace again. Once inside, they break free, defeating all the guards, and go to confront Don Kia. When they enter, Pan attacks first and Don Kia captures her in a force field that electrocutes the others when they try to approach. He then triggers machine guns to fire on Pan. When the smoke clears, Redict is standing there, and he tells Don Kia that these are not the kind of opponents that can be defeated with such weapons. Don Kia asks him to take care of them, but Redict reminds him not to order him around. He fights for himself.

Goku and Trunks both recognize Redict as a serious opponent, and Giru senses the danger too. Trunks attacks first, aiming a punch at Redict's head, but Redict dodges and punches Trunks in the chest. Trunks hits the ceiling and bounces on the floor before falling again, defeated. Goku tells Trunks to leave this one to him and go see about Pan. Redict tells Goku that he can sense his strength, so Goku introduces himself and asks Redict who he is. Redict introduces himself as well, telling Goku he will not hold back even if his opponent is a child. They stare each other down for a moment, and then they both attack at once.
Their fists meet, and then Redict shoots fireballs from one hand, blowing out the side of the cupola. Goku blocks the attack and retreats outside; Redict comes up behind him to fight hand-to-hand, but Goku blocks his kick and grabs him by the leg, throwing him some distance away. Redict attacks with the fireballs again, hitting Goku and obscuring him in smoke. Then Redict grabs the spikes on his shoulders, pulling them free and converting them into swords. As soon as the blades form, new spikes grow on Redict's shoulders.

Redict watches the smoke, waiting for Goku to emerge, but then he senses Goku moving behind him and quickly turns to attack with one of his blades. Goku dodges this attack and the flurry that follows, then catches both blades in his hands, struggling against Redict until the blades shatter. Redict takes this opportunity to kick Goku in the stomach, sending Goku crashing through the palace. Redict is waiting when he comes out the other side and punches him back through the palace again. Inside, Don Kia sobs over the destruction of his palace.
Redict pulls another spike from his shoulder, forming a long spear and then chasing after Goku. Goku turns at the last moment, dodging the blade end of the spear, but Redict spins the spear to hit Goku with the flat end, sending Goku hurtling down again. Goku recovers quickly, drifting back up to face Redict, but he is out of breath. Acknowledging Redict's strength, Goku confides that he is starting to get excited. Redict suspects that Goku is hiding his true strength, and says, "Isn't that right, Saiyan?" Goku seems surprised that Redict knows he is a Saiyan, and Redict is smug, but Goku is content to start round two.
Goku's aura turns golden, and Redict is surprised by this. Giru informs whoever might be listening that Goku's energy is rising, and then Goku transforms into a Super Saiyan. Redict is shocked and confused, but Goku attacks, breaking the spear on the way to punching Redict in the gut. Redict drops the broken spear, grabbing the spikes that dangle from his wrists, but Goku immediately knocks them out of his hands and flips backwards, kicking Redict in the chin. Don Kia is distressed to see that Redict is losing. The fight continues hand-to-hand; Redict cannot land an attack, but Goku gets in several blows, eventually sending Redict hurtling back toward the palace with a downward kick to the head. Redict manages to land gracefully on the roof and then prepares a last-ditch energy attack, while Goku charges a Kamehameha to counter it. Goku's attack overwhelms Redict completely.
Back inside the cupola, Goku tells Redict that if he trains, he can become even stronger. Goku promises to also train so that they can fight again some day. Redict says that Goku is a funny kid; Goku admits that he has heard the "funny" part before, but informs Redict that he is not really a kid. Redict does not understand, but concedes that the universe is a big place, and that maybe his power is not yet completely developed. He tries to stand up, but doubles over in pain from his injury. Goku asks him if he is okay, and meanwhile Pan confronts Don Kia again, who tries to give Redict a big pile of money to try again to defeat these guys. Redict knocks him and his money aside, calling him a lowlife. Redict turns his back on Don Kia and walks away. As he passes Goku, he promises that he will win next time. Goku laughs, and tells Redict that he is not going to lose. Redict smiles at him, then departs.[3]
