Earthlings

The word "Earthling" (地球人; Chikyūjin) in Dragon Ball refers to any being of terrestrial origin. Since the majority of the series is spent on Earth, it is no surprise that this group is the largest character base. Akira Toriyama, a nature loving person himself, used many inhabitants of Earth for the basis of his characters, not just humans. Although some of these non-human Earthling characters had human characteristics (walking upright and talking), they were classified separately from ordinary humans. All "Earthling" characters have been divided up into the following categories.

In addition to normal animals in the "Dragon World", there are also those that display human characteristics, some of which harmoniously live amongst humans. Even amongst these animal-types there are also those who have acquired unique powers, such as Oolong and the Carrotizor Bunny.

Aliens

Aliens, or extraterrestrials, in the "Dragon World" are beings not originally from the Planet Earth. After Akira Toriyama had exhausted all of the Earth's strongest warriors, he decided to expand to the rest of the universe. From that point on, the series was never the same. Toriyama was now able to create a much wider variety of characters at will, specifically ridiculously strong opponents for Goku and friends to face off against. In addition, many of the Earth's greatest warriors turned out to be aliens themselves, including the main protagonist, Son Goku.

Enma-daiō Japanese VA: Daisuke Gōri Description.

God Japanese VA: Takeshi Aono (DB, Z, Kai 4-51), Bin Shimada (Kai 66-68) Description.

Kaiō Japanese VA: Jōji Yanami Description.

Kaiōshin Japanese VA: Yūji Mitsuya (Z, DBZ: Battle of Gods), Shin'ichirō Ōta (GT) Description.

Karin Japanese VA: Ichirō Nagai (DB, Z, Kai), Naoki Tatsuta (Z 217-241) A cat sage who lives at the top of Karin Tower, located in the Karin Holy Land. He serves as a go-between for the God of Earth and everyone else, and originally came from the afterlife. He grows the senzu and is the keeper of the large Kinto-Un from which all smaller ones come. He trains Goku to defeat Tao Pai-pai, and later gives him the Super God Water to make him strong enough to defeat Piccolo Daimaō. After that he continues to serve as an adviser to Goku for the rest of the series.

Mister Popo Japanese VA: Toku Nishio (DB, Z, GT), Dai Matsumoto (PS2 Games), Yasuhiko Kawazu (Kai) Description.

Porunga Japanese VA: Junpei Takiguchi (Z), Masaharu Satō (Z 101, PS2 Games), Daisuke Gōri (Z 283-286, Kai 36), Ryūzaburō Ōtomo (Kai 51-54) Description.

Shenlong Japanese VA: Kenji Utsumi (DB, Z 21-100, Kai 8-51), Masaharu Satō (Z 192-193), Shin Aomori (Z 240, Z M13), Tesshō Genda (Z M12), Daisuke Gōri (GT), Ryūzaburō Ōtomo (Kai 97) Shenlong is the dragon that appears when all seven of the Earth's Dragon Balls have been gathered together. Shenlong, and the Dragon Balls themselves, have many restrictions and rules in place regarding the types and amounts of wishes. As a general note, be sure to know what you're wishing for in advance, as Shenlong can become quite impatient and irritable.

Japanese VA: Masako Nozawa & Takeshi Kusao

Before returning to the afterlife, Son Goku teaches Trunks and Son Goten the art of Fusion in order to defeat Majin Buu. After some trial and error the two eventually master the dance, and with their combined intellect they create numerous childish, yet somewhat effective techniques.

Gotan

Japanese VA: Masako Nozawa & Daisuke Gōri (Dragon Ball Z 2)

A hypothetical fusion Son Goku imagines between himself and Mister Satan as he frantically searches for someone else to fuse with after Majin Buu absorbs Son Gohan. Fortunately Vegeta shows up before Goku can make this fusion a reality, however the character was later brought to life in the "Dragon Ball Z 2" video game.

Vegetto

Japanese VA: Masako Nozawa & Ryō Horikawa

With no other warriors left on Earth, Son Goku pleads with Vegeta, who eventually agrees, to fuse with him before Majin Buu destroys the planet. It is quickly obvious that Vegetto embodies the cocky fighting attitude of the two Saiyans, and he makes it clear that there is no doubt his strength surpasses Majin Buu. However, Majin Buu takes advantage of his cockiness and absorbs Vegetto, breaking the permanent fusion.
