Synopsis

Before the second match of the semi-finals, Goku verifies that Shen is in fact God. Shen informs a concerned Goku that he has a good plan, and goes to deal with his fight. The fight between Shen and Ma Junior is a super battle that dumbfounds even Tenshinhan and the others!! After realizing that borrowing a human body has put him at a disadvantage, Shen fires a Mafūba! But Piccolo had predicted this, and he fires a Reverse-Mafūba, which draws God out from Shen and seals him within a small bottle!!

Continuity

Translation

  • In the Funimation subtitles, Shen thinks of Piccolo: "His power is far too great, despite his having borrowed the body of a weak human!" Piccolo responds: "Borrowed?! I've borrowed the body of a human, you say?"
    • This a mistranslation. The Viz translation of the same lines in the manga is accurate: "Even accounting for the fact that I've borrowed a weak human's body, the difference between our powers is too great...!" / "'Borrowed'...? Who are you to have borrowed a human body?"
    • The error was elided in the Funimation dub adaptation. Shen says: "His fighting skills have improved. I had hoped my disguise as a human being would throw him off guard..." Piccolo responds: "Oh really? Disguised as a human being."

Music

The following table is a scene-by-scene account of the musical tracks used in this episode. The background music is composed by Shunsuke Kikuchi, and our in-house K-catalogue numbers apply to tracks composed or arranged by him.
