Summary
As they fly through space toward the Galactic Prison, one of the Galactic Patrol agents feels...something. He tells his fellow agent that it feels like they just lost something important. The other agents look back toward Earth.
On Earth, the wind blows over the battlefield, as if to carry away the last traces of Merusu. Jaco asks Goku if Merusu is really dead, but then he realizes something is wrong with Goku, and asks if he is okay. Goku says that he learned another important lesson from Merusu: that he is not fighting alone. Beerus is impatient to see Goku transform; Whis thinks it is imminent, but he wonders if Goku can really control his emotions. Goku tells Jaco that he was saved by Vegeta, and again by Dende, and in the end, his failure forced Merusu to give up his life. Jaco realizes that Merusu is really gone, then. But Goku says Merusu did not do it for him. He did it for their universe.
Goku lets his anger go for a moment, taking a deep breath. He asks Jaco why he joined the Galactic Patrol. Jaco asks if they really have time for this, but Goku insists. Jaco tells him that he wanted to help preserve peace in the galaxy, and also, the uniform is really cool. Goku smiles and tells Jaco that Merusu felt the same way. Goku looks at his own uniform, and says that now he is a Galactic Patrol agent just like Jaco, and protecting the universe is his duty too. He will not let Moro have his way with their home.
Just then, Moro rises from the ground, cursing Merusu and his inscrutable techniques. Goku tells Jaco to stand back. Moro asks Goku where Merusu ran off to, and Goku informs him that Merusu no longer exists, so winning this fight is his job now. Moro is annoyed that Goku still thinks he can win, but Goku tells him that though Merusu may be gone, his will lives on within Goku. He powers up, causing a great disturbance in the elements around him. A tower of flame towers swirls around him and rises toward the sky. Piccolo wonders who that might be, but Gohan knows it is his father; he is finally ready to win this fight. Beerus observes that things seem to be going well, and Whis agrees; they are about to witness Ultra Instinct perfected!
When Goku finishes powering up, Moro is astounded. Piccolo observes that the ground has stopped rumbling; in fact, it is so quiet, he does not feel a thing. Gohan says it is as if those storms a second ago had never happened. When Goku faces Moro, his hair is silver; Jaco says that is a new color for his book. Goku walks toward Moro, who seems terrified. He tries to back away, and then warns Goku not to come any closer, preparing to throw an energy ball his way, but then Goku appears at his side, grabbing his arm to stop him and informing him that he will not be harming the Earth anymore. Moro tries to attack again, but Goku easily knocks him aside. Moro does not even know what he did.
Moro tries attacking Goku again, but there is nothing he can do; Goku effortlessly dodges every attack. Beerus thinks that Goku is still fine-tuning his moves, and Whis agrees. Moro asks Goku how he is dodging like that, and Goku tells him he does it by not thinking. Moro does not get it, so Goku explains that his body acts on its own and decides how to dodge, and that is why Moro's attacks cannot hit him. Moro thinks that is nonsense, and he powers up again.
Piccolo tells the others that Moro is charging up to full power again. Moro attacks, but Goku catches him in a God Bind and then gathers up some extra momentum to punch him in the gut. The blowback from the punch sends Jaco flying, and Beerus, Whis, Vegeta, Piccolo, Gohan, and everyone at God's Temple have to brace themselves against the wind as the punch sends ripples across the entire planet.
Whis watches as Moro flies upward while Beerus compliments Goku's perfect execution. Whis is surprised that someone managed to gain his respect and Beerus says he gives respect where it is due, and the way Goku fights is godlike. Just then, Goku notices that they are there. Beerus tells him not to stop now; he needs to finish the job so they can eat. Goku smiles, and then Moro hits the ground, in terrible shape.
Goku asks Moro if he realizes now that he cannot win. Moro struggles and manages to get to his feet, but then he falls to his knees again, so Goku goes on, asking him if he is beginning to understand the pain and suffering of everyone he has killed. Moro tells him to be silent, that he must think he is a god to presume to lecture him. Goku just looks at him, so he tells Goku that he does not fear divine power; he is Moro the Planet-Eater, and the gods' creation is for him to eat. He is this galaxy's ultimate lifeform!
Geysers of flame shoot up around Moro as he rages. He does not care whether this planet lives or dies and he asks Goku to consider which would serve him better. Unfazed, Goku kicks Moro in the chin, sending him flying into one of his own geysers of flame. Moro falls off the flame fountain and lands on a chunk of broken earth, floating in molten rock. Goku tells Moro that he is done, and Earth is not his plaything anymore. Moro says that if he really cares so much about this planet, his next act will be to consume it. But Goku kicks him in the gut, sending him flying toward another rock where he lands in a small cave. He looks up, and the cave collapses on him.
Seemingly trapped beneath the rock, Moro begs for help, begging Goku not to kill him. Goku asks Jaco if Moro has been sentenced to death, and Jaco confirms that he was, and asks if Goku would not mind taking care of business for them. Instead, Goku rips off the remainder of his shirts where the Galactic Patrol's insignia was written and says that he will fight Moro as an Earthling from here on. Jaco asks what that means, and Beerus is alarmed. Whis wonders if he has quit the Galactic Patrol, and Beerus says he has a very bad feeling about this.
