Summary
Kuririn pants for breath as he climbs a rock to get a good view of the battle. He thinks Goku has this one in the bag, and probably will not need a senzu. Meanwhile, Goku reduces the rock that Moro is trapped underneath to sand,[a] and then he tells Moro to get up. Moro gets to his feet with some effort, and then he looks around and asks where Goku went. Eventually he spots him standing beside Kuririn, who does not even know Goku is there until Goku speaks his name. Goku takes the bag of senzu, and Kuririn does not even see him move. Then Goku disappears, reappearing in front of Moro. He tells Moro that he will spare him if he goes back to Galactic Prison and promises never to break out again. Moro happily swears to do this and promises Goku will never be bothered by him again. Goku gives him a senzu (much to Kuririn's dismay), and Moro asks what it is. Goku tells him it will restore his stamina; he should eat it, and then Jaco will escort him back to prison.
Moro eats the senzu and is surprised to find that it works better than Seven-Three's healing ability. Jaco yells at Goku for healing him. Goku tells Moro that now he will keep his promise. Moro says he his grateful, but he is not going anywhere until Goku dies by his hand. He attacks with the intention of impaling Goku as he did earlier, an arm through his chest,[2] but his hand breaks on impact. Moro wails as he grips his mangled hand. Whis explains that when Ultra Instinct is honed to this extent, the body automatically grows sturdier as necessary. Beerus is annoyed that Goku is playing around; he ordered him to finish the job.
Goku tells Moro that he is a sneaky coward, and that at his current strength, he has no chance of winning. Goku powers down and asks Moro if he has ever trained. Moro says that obviously, he has not. Goku tells him that he might have gotten stronger if he trained instead of eating planets and stealing lives. Moro retorts that training is a crutch for the weak. Goku says that is a shame because he has never encountered anyone as tough as Moro. If he was an decent guy, Goku would love to fight him again after he trained. Jaco shouts out to Goku to remind him that he just broke his word and he should stop expecting him to have a change of heart and just finish him off. Goku promises Jaco that he will, but he wants to talk to him a little more.
Moro pounds the earth and curses, still in disbelief that he could be beaten by a race that only emerged a few million years ago. Goku tells him that he will never be free again, and asks him one more time to go quietly back to prison, but Moro has caught sight of something: the hand that was severed by Merusu. Goku demands an answer, but Moro tells him he will never go back to Galactic Prison. He will continue to consume whatever planets he wants. Goku says he has no choice then; he promised Merusu to protect the galaxy. He powers up to Ultra Instinct again. Moro asks who that Galactic Patrol agent really was, and Goku tells him it was his teacher, the one who taught him how to do this. Moro asks if that means he could use the same technique, and Goku tells him yes. Moro remembers having copied Merusu's abilities just before his hand was cut off—the hand that is floating nearby on a rock in the lava. Moro uses his telekinesis to call the hand to him, and tells Goku he would love to try this instinct thing, and he reattaches the hand to his body. Then he touches his forehead, replacing the crystal that was broken with the Merusu crystal.
Moro announces that Merusu's abilities now belong to him. Beerus tells Whis to explain, and Whis says that Merusu's abilities were apparently copied before he ceased to exist. Beerus is annoyed that Merusu managed to botch the job; Kuririn panics, and Jaco yells at Goku again for failing to finish him off. Moro attacks, pushing Goku back some distance. He tells Goku to prepare himself, so Goku closes his eyes, and then opens them again. They charge at each other, meeting fists, and Whis pulls Jaco and Kuririn inside a barrier to protect them from the fallout. Goku looks at the damage and tells Moro to follow him. Moro realizes he is trying to avoid damage to the planet, but he follows. He tries to kick Goku, and Goku blocks him, but Moro blocks Goku's attacks too.
Moro is impressed with his new power, but then Goku takes him for a spin around the planet, which Moro thinks is pointless since they are evenly matched. He kicks Goku to the ground and drops to meet him there, reminding him that he still has his magic, which gives him an advantage. Goku says in that case he should try harder. Moro does not understand why Goku is still so calm. Goku kicks Moro's arm, and Moro tells him that is pointless, too; his body becomes tougher on its own to compensate. In fact, his arm becomes huge. Moro tries to kill Goku with this giant arm, but Goku dodges and kicks Moro in the back. Then Moro's torso grows larger, and he laughs, thinking this proves his point.
Goku continues to land blows all around Moro's body. Whis explains that Moro's body is swelling in an attempt to contain Merusu's angel power. Beerus says this makes sense; god power is not to be taken lightly. Moro has now swelled into an ungainly giant, and Goku tells him to remember what happened to Saganbo;[3] he is making the same mistake. Goku himself was only able to master this technique after training his body to withstand it. He warns Moro to let Merusu's abilities go before he is destroyed by them. Moro is amused that Goku thinks he has limits after he has consumed so many planets, but Goku tells him that everyone has a limit, and this is his limit. Moro becomes angry and tries to capture Goku with his hands, but Goku dodges him and then flies up to kick him in the head.
On the ground, Moro realizes that he needs a body that can withstand this power. Jaco breathes a sigh of relief while Kuririn cheers Goku, but Whis seems to recognize the danger of the situation. He tells Goku to kill Moro now before he gets desperate. Goku agrees, and drops down to finish the job, but it is too late. Moro's head rises up from the ground behind him, firing a mouth beam right at Goku. Moro explains that he has become one with the planet and has now done away with his limits. Whis tells everyone that the planet now shares Moro's fate; killing Moro would mean destroying the Earth, and if they cannot, his swollen energy will detonate and potentially destroy the entire galaxy. Moro laughs and dares Goku to try him now.

Notes
- ↑ It is not 100% clear if Goku is using Destruction here, but this is how Beerus's power is depicted when the character is introduced in Battle of Gods; he taps an egg with a fingernail and reduces it to small particles. A similar effect is used in the Dragon Ball Super anime.[1]
