"Transformed At Last!! The Legendary Super Saiyan, Son Goku" is the ninety-fifth episode of the Japanese animated television series Dragon Ball Z. The episode first aired in Japan on Fuji TV on 12 June 1991, receiving a ratings share of 19.9%. It was written by Hiroshi Toda and directed by Shigeyasu Yamauchi.
Synopsis
After the apparent death of Freeza, Son Goku and his friends share a moment of relief and relaxation. Kuririn suddenly remembers Bulma and the group discuss returning to Earth. Meanwhile on Planet Kaiō, Yamcha and the others gain the upper hand against the four members of the Ginyu Special-Squad. One by one, they are launched off of the planet and down into the Pond of Blood below, where Mez and Goz look on in bemusement. But, Freeza was not defeated! He emerges from the water, injured and angry, having somehow survived the Genki-Dama. No longer playing around, he mortally wounds Piccolo and obliterates Kuririn as Goku and Gohan look on. Goku is enveloped by rage, his hair turning yellow as he is surrounded by glowing ki. He sends his son away as Freeza looks on in surprise and fear: Goku has become a Super Saiyan! Many miles away, Bulma and Ginyu see the yellow light of Goku's new transformation on the horizon.
