Master Sergeant Murasaki's Siblings are fictional characters in the Dragon Ball manga series by Akira Toriyama. Murasaki's siblings make their debut in chapter 62, published in the 1986 #12 issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump.

Biography

Master Sergeant Murasaki and his siblings are quintuplets and ninjas in the Red Ribbon Army, specifically the White Corps led by General White. In Age 750,[1] the White Corps operates from Muscle Tower, where they hold the mayor from Jingle Village hostage in order to force the villagers to help them search for a Dragon Ball.[2]

Intending to free the mayor, Son Goku storms Muscle Tower and conquers several floors before facing Murasaki on the fourth floor.[3] After many failed attempts at disposing of the boy, Murasaki pretends to perform the Art of Division (分身の術 Bunshin no Jutsu) and calls his four brothers to his aid.

The brothers use various ninja tools and guns to try and kill Goku, but to no avail. Assuming four of the five are illusions, Goku is confused at first, but has no trouble dispatching them once Murasaki reveals they are quintuplets. To Murasaki's dismay, Goku uses the "real" Art of Division to trick and defeat his brothers.[4] He runs to send Artificial Human No. 8 after Goku, but No. 8 refuses and Goku knocks Murasaki out with a Jan-Ken Gū.[5]

Name

ムラサキ (Murasaki) is a katakana rendering of the Japanese word for purple.

Similarly, the names of Murasaki's siblings, コン (Kon), チャ (Cha), アカ (Aka) and アオ (Ao), are katakana renderings of the Japanese words for navy blue, brown, red and blue (sometimes used for green) respectively.[a]
