Trunks's Timeline Characters

Trunks's Timeline refers to the alternate events that happened to Future Trunks prior to his traveling back in time to deliver the heart medication to Son Goku and altering the future. Once the Artificial Humans and Cell were defeated, Trunks returned to his timeline to defeat his versions of them and bring peace to his world as well. This timeline was later attacked and largely wiped out by Zamasu and Omni-King with Trunks and Future Mai as the only survivors.

Dragon Ball Manga Characters

The following characters appear in Trunks's Timeline in Akira Toriyama's Dragon Ball manga series. These appearances are generally in either Dragon Ball Chapter 419, 420, or the extra chapter.

Artificial Human No. 17 An Artificial Human created by Doctor Gero, No. 17 rebelled and killed his creator before starting a 16-year reign of terror with his sister. No. 17 is directly responsible for Yamcha's death, while he collaborated with his sister on Kuririn and Son Gohan. No. 17 was eventually defeated by Trunks.

Artificial Human No. 18 An Artificial Human created by Doctor Gero, No. 18 rebelled and killed her creator before starting a 16-year reign of terror with her brother. No. 18 is directly responsible for Piccolo's and Tenshinhan's deaths, while she collaborated with her brother on Kuririn and Son Gohan. No. 18 was eventually defeated by Trunks.

Bulma Bulma survived the initial attacks by the Artificial Humans to raise her son. Remembering that Son Goku always managed to save the day, Bulma spent years developing the plan, and then creating the fuel for, a time machine.

Cell Another Artificial Human created by Doctor Gero, based on the genetic material of Son Goku, Freeza, Piccolo, and Vegeta. This Cell emerged into a world where Artificial Humans No. 17 and 18 were already defeated. He attempted to kill Trunks to take his time machine (as Cell's Timeline Cell did), but Trunks was prepared and killed him while he was still in his Imperfect Form.

Son Gohan After the death of his father and their friends, Gohan was the last surviving warrior to face the Artificial Humans. After the death of Piccolo and Kururin, Son Gohan discovered the rage required to become a Super Saiyan. Fighting a decade-long losing battle against the Artificial Humans, Gohan eventually began to train Trunks. While protecting his protégée, the Artificial Humans severed his arm, an injury that he was unable to heal without sensu. The Artificial Humans finally defeat Son Gohan in Age 780.

Trunks The son of Bulma and Vegeta, Trunks grew up in a world where Son Goku died of a heart virus in Age 766. With Son Goku dead, the Artificial Humans that emerged the following year were able to defeat nearly all of the world's fighters and begin a reign of destruction that would last more than a decade. Trunks trained with Son Gohan, eventually becoming a Super Saiyan After Son Gohan's death, Trunks fails to defeat the Artificial Humans on his own and returns to the past to warn Goku and the others, as well as learn from them. Trunks eventually returned from the past to defeat the Artificial Humans and return peace to the world, for a time.

Dragon Ball Z Anime Characters

The following characters appeared in anime-only filler material featuring Trunks's Timeline in Dragon Ball Z.

Chi-Chi After Son Goku's death and the death of most of the rest of Earth's warriors, Chi-Chi gave up her dream of Gohan becoming a scholar and supported him as the world's final hero. She continued to live in Mount Paozu, possibly with her father the Ox Demon King.

Oolong After the Artificial Humans began their assault on Earth, Oolong fled to Kame House and later to the Turtle Hermit's submarine. He survived until at least Age 780, with the Turtle Hermit, Turtle, and Pu'er.

Ox Demon King Chi-Chi's father, the Ox Demon King, survived the onslaught of the Artificial Humans at least until Age 780. He may have lived with Chi-Chi at Mount Paozu, based on his brief appearance in the Trunks TV special.

Pu'er After the death of Yamcha, Pu'er retreated to Kame House and to the Turtle Hermit's submarine where he survived at least until Age 780. He lived on board the sub with the Turtle Hermit, Oolong, and Turtle.

Son Goku Son Goku's death of a heart disease in Age 766 was the start of Trunk's dark timeline. Without his help in fighting against the Artificial Humans, as well as inspiring his friends to train and try harder, the world nearly came to an end.

Turtle After the Artificial Humans began their assault on Earth, Turtle remained with the Turtle Hermit at [[Kame House], later fleeing to the master's submarine. He survived until at least Age 780, with the Turtle Hermit, Turtle, and Pu'er.

Turtle Hermit The Turtle Hermit survived the Artificial Humans' attack until at least Age 780, abandoning Kame House in favor of living on a submarine with Oolong, Pu'ar, and Turtle. It is not clear whether he lived on the submarine full-time or only when hearing about attacks on the radio. As one of the strongest humans left in the world, the Turtle Hermit is strongly tempted to challenge Nos. 17 and 18 himself, but he was warned off by his friends who believed that he would be killed in the attempt.

Yajirobe A martial artist who faced off against the Artificial Humans when they first appeared on Earth and lost. Trunks believed that he was dead, however it was subsequently revealed that he survived the attack or that Trunks had been misinformed as to his fate.
