"Vegeta Takes the Stage!!" is the eleventh chapter of the Dragon Ball Super manga series written and illustrated by Toyotarō, with supervision and guidance from original Dragon Ball author Akira Toriyama. It was first published in Japan in the June 2016 issue of Shueisha's V-Jump, with a sale date of 21 April 2016.
Summary
Despite Piccolo's loss being stricken from the record, Vegeta demands to take the next match. Beerus makes demands of his own, showcasing Goku's injury from Frost's illegal weapon, which results in Goku being able to re-enter the tournament. While this will be allowed, Beerus requires that the order of fighters remain Vegeta followed by Goku and ultimately finishing with Monaka.
The fight between Vegeta and Frost begins with an immediate Super Saiyan transformation and barrage of attacks. As a result, Frost is knocked right out of the ring, losing the match. Goku wonders aloud that, with Frost seemingly having been such a nice guy at the beginning, if he might begin to turn more and more into Freeza.
Vegeta's next opponent will be "Autto Magetta"…! The Universe 7 Kaiōshin ask if he might just be a robot, but the Universe 6 Kaiōshin confirms he is actually of a race called "Metalmen" from Galactic System 66950 and that they probably have similar creatures in their universe. Vegeta begins with a punch, which just seems to hurt his hand. Magetta chops from above, putting Vegeta on the defensive for a while. Not even ki attacks seem to work, so Goku suggests that Vegeta go for a ring-out. Even as a Super Saiyan, Vegeta cannot seem to lift Magetta's foot off the ground.
With that tactic going nowhere, Vegeta is forced to improvise. He begins chipping away at the arena with a barrage of ki blasts, hoping to destroy any trace of arena ground for Magetta to stand on. Magetta spits a lava-like batch of saliva at Vegeta's own attacks. Vegeta insults Magetta as he fires back, which seems to take the Metalman off-guard and knocks him to the ring-less ground. Vegeta has won! According to Whis, apparently the Metalmen have rather fragile egos.
Next up is the Saiyan combatant from Universe 6, Cabba! Smirking, Vegeta advises Cabba to come at him with everything he has right from the start of the fight.

Botamo consoles Magetta, saying that, if only he were less sensitive, he would be unstoppable.
Continuity
- In this chapter, Beerus asks to rescind Goku’s loss before Vegeta’s fight with Frost. In the anime, however, he does so after the fight.
- In the anime, we are shown that Champa promised to give the contestants a literal mountain of treasure with the (implicit) threat that, were they to lose, he would destroy them. Frost and Hit, however, seem to be much more interested in Champa’s “Cube” spaceship (which he calls “the ride of the gods” in Episode 37), which, having the ability to travel between universes, would allow both of them to more easily escape persecution, even from Gods of Destruction. Frost secretly tries to take the Cube for himself just after his loss, but Hit stops him.
- In the manga, the Elder Kaiōshin asks Shin if he has never heard of the Metalmen. In the anime, however, he asks Kibito. Their responses are nearly identical.
- The battle against Magetta plays out very differently (and much less quickly) in the TV series:
- Champa includes a three-dimensional barrier around the ring, which also counts as an out-of-bounds loss were a contestant to touch it. Champa states that it is merely there to protect the spectators, but in reality, he intended to take advantage of the fact that Magetta generates a lot of heat to stack the deck against Vegeta by trapping all that heat inside the barrier. Realizing he just needs to not touch it, Vegeta later decides to destroy the barrier by raising his ki.
- Magetta also seems to be a lot sturdier in the manga. In the anime, Vegeta could hit him normally, even if to little effect. In this chapter, however, he hurts his hand just from punching him.
- Since in the manga he cannot attack him normally, Vegeta tries to throw Magetta out of bounds, just like Goku did with Botamo. However, he finds himself absolutely unable to lift him, even in Super Saiyan form. Beerus shouts at him that this is because Metalmen weigh one kiloton.
- In fact, Magetta is so sturdy in the manga that Vegeta has to resort to outright destroying the ring to force him out of bounds – even if he only manages to effectively do so after insulting him, just like in the anime.
- In this chapter, after getting insulted, Magetta loses so quickly and easily that even Vegeta doesn’t quite understand how he won. In the anime, however, he was in the middle of attacking Magetta when he insulted him, so he did not connect his win to his insult until Whis told him.
- In the anime, Beerus is mad at Whis for not telling them sooner that Metalmen are extremely sensitive emotionally, but Goku replies that if they knew that, it would be no fun (to which Whis agrees). However, in this chapter, Goku is the one who says that Whis could have just told them sooner, to which Whis just replies that “it’s not good to spoil you too much”.
