Josephine is a fictional character in the Dragon Ball universe. She appears to be a character in a romantic movie or series that Bulma watched circa Age 749. She was introduced in an episode scripted by Toshiki Inoue.
Biography
Josephine is a fictional character inside the fictional Dragon Ball universe, glimpsed only briefly in Dragon Ball Episode 2. Her show appears to have been on the air in Age 749. In this show, Bruno had declared his love for her and they are about to kiss. We do not see what happens next because Son Goku changes the channel.
Name
Josephine is based on the Western name, spelled ジョセフィーヌ (Josefiinu) in Japanese katakana. When Bruno speaks her name, the Funimation subtitles substitute "Oh, darling." Since the character is uncredited, her name can only be verified through the Japanese closed captions.
Production
Due to the production schedule inherent in producing a weekly anime series based on a weekly comic, the writers of Dragon Ball interjected anime-only material both as a means of extending the runtime and to flesh out the Dragon Ball universe. Josephine is part of an expanded scene with Goku and Bulma's TV and not part of the original manga.
Performance
Despite having a single line, Josephine is uncredited in the anime.
Notable Appearances
- Dragon Ball Episode 2 - Josephine's only appearance.
