Cae is a fictional character in the Japanese animated television series Dragon Ball Super and its companion manga series written by Toyotarō. Cae makes his debut in Dragon Ball Super Episode 78, broadcast on 12 February 2017 on Fuji TV, as the Kaiōshin of Universe 11.
Biography
Cae is a gentle Kaiōshin with a strong sense of justice who values life.[1][2] He is known for being kind-hearted and taking everything positively.[3]
Tournament of Power

Zen Exhibition Match
When the Great Priest informs the gods of each universe about the upcoming Tournament of Power, he invites them to attend the Zen Exhibition Match to sate the curiosity of the Omni-King from the future, who has never seen a martial arts tournament. The Great Priest creates an arena in a void that appears to be located beneath the Omni-King's palace, and brings in the gods from all the other universes to observe the match. Cae is in attendance along with the God of Destruction Vermoud, his Angel Markarita, and Toppo. When Goku speaks casually to the Omni-Kings, calling them "Zen-chan", Cae worries that Universe 7 might have offended them.[4]
During the match between Basil of Universe 9 and Majin Boo of Universe 7, Cae asks Toppo to deal with one of Basil's energy attacks that Boo has deflected toward their podium. Toppo nullifies the energy and complains about the fighters' lack of respect for the gods.[5]
Name
Cae's name likely comes from the 界 (kai) in "Kaiōshin" meaning "world".[2] Additionally, many Kaiōshin appear to have been named after deities, and Caenus (カイネウス/Kaineusu) of Greek mythology is a possible source for this name, or one of any number of gods whose names begin with "Kai" or "Cae".[6]
Performance
Cae is voiced by Taishi Murata, who also voices Arak, the God of Destruction of Universe Five. In the FUNimation dub, Cae is voiced by Aaron Roberts in his first major role for the franchise. Roberts also voices several minor roles throughout Dragon Ball Z Kai and Dragon Ball Super.
