Dragon Ball Z Kai Music (Sumitomo)

This article is about the musical score of the international version of the Majin Boo arc of Dragon Ball Z Kai, called "The Final Chapters". For the Japanese domestic version of Dragon Ball Kai, see Dragon Ball Kai Music (Sumitomo).

This page contains a list of all the music used in the original soundtrack (OST) of the international version of the Majin Boo arc of Dragon Ball Z Kai, called "The Final Chapters". All of the background music (BGM) is composed by Norihito Sumitomo; the opening, ending, and insert songs are not, though there are several Sumitomo arrangements of these songs and previous Dragon Ball songs (like "CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA") among the BGM.

This score is the original Sumitomo score for the Majin Boo arc, composed after the series had been canceled in Japan. Demand from international licensors led to the production of "The Final Chapters" for international release, and when the series was brought back to Fuji TV in 2014, the arc was further condensed, reducing the episode count by 8, from 167 to 159. The corresponding episodes with the same titles from 99-112 (99-106) have substantial differences, and the episodes from 99-113 (99-106) are scored differently. The corresponding episodes from 114-164 (107-157) with the same titles are exactly the same aside from the different theme songs.

The insert song "Let It Burn" is only used in the Funimation version of Dragon Ball Z Kai Episode 158; no other international releases included it even though their episode count is the same as the Funimation version. Those versions (Korea, Germany, France etc.) use the same BGM as the Japanese domestic version in its place. The Battle of Gods version of CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA is likewise only used in the Funimation version of Episode 167. Episode 165 of "The Final Chapters" was cut entirely from the Japanese version.
