Roselle is a fictional character in the Japanese animated television series Dragon Ball Super and its companion manga series written by Toyotarō. Roselle makes his debut in Dragon Ball Super Episode 96, broadcast on 25 June 2017 on Fuji TV, as a member of the Universe 9 team.

Biography

Roselle is a bat-like warrior. In the Tournament of Power, he was unable to endure Freeza's concentrated attack, so he fled the ring of his own volition.[1]

Name

Roselle's name is likely derived from Roselle (ローゼル), an annual or perennial herb cultivated for its fiber and edible external portion of the flower. The character name is taken directly from the katakana used to write "roselle" in Japanese.[2]

Performance

Roselle is voiced by Yasuhiro Mamiya, whose franchise debut role was the king of the planet half-destroyed by Beerus in Dragon Ball Super Episode 1. In the Tournament of Power, Mamiya also voices Iwen, the God of Destruction of Universe 1; Sidra, the God of Destruction of Universe 9, Jimizu of Universe 2, and Napapa and Rubalt of Universe 10. In the FUNimation dub, Roselle is voiced by Anthony Bowling, the voice of Beets in Dragon Ball Super: Broly. In the Tournament of Power, Bowling also voices Ag, the Kaiōshin of Universe 12. Bowling also voiced several uncredited roles in Dragon Ball Z Kai.
