Awamo is a fictional character in the Japanese animated television series Dragon Ball Super and its companion manga series written by Toyotarō. Awamo makes their debut in Dragon Ball Super Episode 78, broadcast on 12 February 2017 on Fuji TV, as the Angel of Universe 1.

Biography

Awamo is an Angel whose high level[2] grants extraordinary sensory capabilities.[3]

Tournament of Power

Awamo attends the Zen Exhibition Match with Iwen and Anat, the God of Destruction and Kaiōshin of Universe 1, where they learn that their universe is exempt from the Tournament of Power. The Great Priest reveals that the Gods of Destruction and Kaiōshin will be erased along with their universe should they fail to win, while the Angels will be spared.[4]

Name

Awamo's name is likely derived from Awamori (泡盛), a distilled alcoholic beverage made from long grain indica rice and unique to Okinawa, Japan. The character name is written in katakana and drops the last syllable.[5]

Performance

Awamo has yet to speak on screen and has never been assigned a voice actor.
