Camparri is a fictional character in the Japanese animated television series Dragon Ball Super and its companion manga series written by Toyotarō. Camparri makes his debut in Dragon Ball Super Episode 78, broadcast on 12 February 2017 on Fuji TV, as the Angel of Universe 3.
Biography
Camparri understands the electronic sounds of Mosco and can interpret them.[2]
Tournament of Power
Camparri attends the Zen Exhibition Match with Mosco and Ea, the God of Destruction and Kaiōshin of Universe 3, where they learn that the participation of their universe in the Tournament of Power is required. The Great Priest reveals that the Gods of Destruction and Kaiōshin of the participating universes will be erased along with their universe should they fail to win, while the Angels will be spared.[3]
Name
Camparri's name is likely derived from Campari (カンパリ/Kanpari), an Italian alcoholic liqueur obtained from the infusion of herbs and fruit in alcohol and water. The character name adds a vowel elongation to the "pa" syllable. This name pun follows the theme of Gods of Destruction and Angels being named after alcoholic beverages.[4]
Performance
Camparri is voiced by Bin Shimada, best known as the voice of Broli. In the Tournament of Power, Shimada also gives his voice to Dyspo of Universe 11's Pride Troopers. In the FUNimation dub, Camparri is voiced by Calvin Scott Roberts in his first role for the franchise.
