Lavenda is a fictional character in the Japanese animated television series Dragon Ball Super and its companion manga series written by Toyotarō. Lavenda makes his debut in Dragon Ball Super Episode 78, broadcast on 12 February 2017 on Fuji TV, as one of the chosen representatives of Universe Nine in the Zen Exhibition Match..

Biography

Also known as "Poison Lavenda", he is the middle brother of Trio the Dangers. Lavenda manipulates poison freely and never wins by any other means.[1]

Zen Exhibition Match

Lavenda represented the Universe Nine in the second fight of the Zen Exhibition Match, versus Son Gohan of Universe Seven. Lavenda used poison to blind Gohan, and the match eventually ended in a draw.[2]

Tournament of Power

Lavenda was one of the ten fighters representing Universe Nine at the Tournament of Power. He and he and his brothers were the last members of their universe to be eliminated.[3] They were knocked out of the ring by the Final Kamehameha of Goku and Vegeta.[4] Lavenda's universe was erased by the Omni-Kings, but they were revived by Super Shenlong thanks to No. 17's wish at the conclusion of the tournament.[5]

Name

Lavenda's name is a modified form of the Japanese transliteration of "lavender" (ラベンダー/rabendā), an aromatic evergreen shrub of the mint family, with narrow leaves and bluish-purple flowers. Its dried flowers and leaves are often used as culinary herbs, while their oils are used commercially for scent applications. The character name drops the vowel elongation used to transliterate words ending in -er.

Performance

Lavenda is voiced by Takeshi Kusao, best known as the voice of Trunks. Kusao also gave his voice to Narirama for the Tournament of Power.
