Liquir is a fictional character in the Japanese animated television series Dragon Ball Super and its companion manga series written by Toyotarō. Liquir makes his debut in Dragon Ball Super Episode 78, broadcast on 12 February 2017 on Fuji TV, as the God of Destruction of Universe Eight.

Biography

Liquir lives to fix defects in his Kaiōshin's plans, and strictly destroys anyone who lowers their universe's level by not admitting to defects in plans.

Tournament of Power

Liquir learns that his universe is exempt from the Tournament of Power when he attends the Zen Exhibition Match with Korn and Il, the Angel and Kaiōshin of Universe Eight.

Name

Liquir's name is likely derived from "liqueur" (リキュール/Rikyūru), a term referring to any beverage made from a distilled spirit that has been flavored and bottled with additional sweetener. Liquir's name pun follows the theme of Gods of Destruction and Angels being named after alcoholic beverages.

Performance

Liquir is voiced by Daisuke Kishio, best known as the voice of Cabba. Kishio also voices Jheese in Dragon Ball Kai, and in the Tournament of Power, he also gives his voice to Mule and Boraleta. In the FUNimation dub, Liquir is voiced by Dallas Reid in his first credited role for the Dragon Ball franchise.
