Before returning to the afterlife, Son Goku teaches Trunks and Son Goten the Fusion dance in order to defeat Majin Boo. After some trial and error the two eventually master the dance, and with their combined intellect they create numerous childish, yet somewhat effective, techniques.

An initially-unnamed hypothetical fusion Son Goku imagines between himself and Mister Satan as he frantically searches for someone else to fuse with after Majin Boo absorbs Son Gohan; fortunately, Vegeta shows up before Goku can make this fusion a reality.[4] A different character design explicitly named "Gotan" for the first time was used as a design example in 1995's "Anime J-Wing Dragon Ball Fusion Tournament."[2] Gotan was later brought to life in the video game Dragon Ball Z 2 (with two design variations), and made subsequent appearances in the Dragon Ball Heroes series of games.

With no other warriors left on Earth, Son Goku pleads with Vegeta, who eventually agrees, to fuse with him using the Potara earrings before Majin Boo destroys the planet. Vegetto exhibits the cocky fighting attitude of the two Saiyans, and he makes it clear that there is no doubt his strength surpasses Majin Boo. However, Majin Boo takes advantage of his cockiness and absorbs Vegetto, and the fusion subsequently breaks apart.
Following the initial defeat of Goku and Vegeta, Moro travels from village to village on Planet Namek, slaughtering the inhabitants and collecting the Dragon Balls. During this time, the strongest warriors from each remaining Namekian village combine to create a "savior". This fighter is immediately impaled by a disinterested Moro upon arriving at Tsuburi's village.[7]
