Chappil is a fictional character in the Japanese animated television series Dragon Ball Super and its companion manga series written by Toyotarō. Chappil makes his debut in Dragon Ball Super Episode 96, broadcast on 25 June 2017 on Fuji TV, as a member of the Universe 9 team.
Biography
Chappil is known as the Iron Skin Battler, a steel-skinned warrior. In the Tournament of Power, he is knocked out of the ring by Goku's strong blow.[1]

Name
Chappil's name is likely derived from Chevril (チャービル), an annual herb related to parsley whose leaves are used as a culinary seasoning. The character name is taken directly from the katakana used to write "chervil" in Japanese with the vowel elongation dropped from the "cha" syllable, the proceeding "bi" syllable’s diacritic sign changed, and a consonant elongation added to the new "pi" syllable.[2]
Performance
Chappil is voiced by Takeshi Kusao, best known as the voice of Trunks. In the Tournament of Power, Takatsuka also gives his voice to Harmira of Universe 2, Shosa of Universe 4, and Dyrasen of Universe 10. In the FUNimation dub, Chappil is voiced by Taylor Harris in his first credited role for the Dragon Ball franchise.
