Comfrey is a fictional character in the Japanese animated television series Dragon Ball Super and its companion manga series written by Toyotarō. Comfrey makes his debut in Dragon Ball Super Episode 96, broadcast on 25 June 2017 on Fuji TV, as a member of the Universe 9 team.
Biography
In the anime version of Tournament of Power, Comfrey is dropped out of the ring by Goku's intense blow.[1]
In the manga continuity, Comfrey is defeated by Frost, who scorches him senseless with a kiai, causing him to fall backwards out of the ring. All of the Universe 9 warriors are eliminated in short order, and their universe is erased.[2]

Name
Comfrey's name is likely derived from Comfrey (コンフリー), a perennial herb with large, hairy broad leaves that bears small bell-shaped flowers of various colors. The character name is taken directly from the katakana used to write "comfrey" in Japanese.[3]
Performance
Comfrey is voiced by Ryōichi Tanaka, who has voiced several roles across all Dragon Ball series, most notably Doctor Brief and Elder Kaiōshin. In the FUNimation dub, Comfrey is voiced by Alex Mai, who makes his franchise debut in the Tournament of Power. Mai also voices Murisam of Universe 10.
