Name

Hyssop's name is likely derived from Hyssop (ヒソップ), an evergreen garden herb of the mint family, grown for its aromatic leaves and flowers. The plant has long been used as a flavoring for foods and beverages. The character name is taken directly from the katakana used to write "hyssop" in Japanese.[2]

Performance

Hyssop is voiced by Takeshi Kusao, best known as the voice of Trunks. In the Tournament of Power, Kusao also gives his voice to Narirama of Universe 3, Lavenda of Universe 9, and Vuon of Universe 11's Pride Troopers. In the FUNimation dub, Hyssop is voiced by David Wald, who previously voiced several minor roles in Dragon Ball Z Kai. In the Tournament of Power, Wald also voices Napapa of Universe 10.
