Oregano is a fictional character in the Japanese animated television series Dragon Ball Super and its companion manga series written by Toyotarō. Oregano makes his debut in Dragon Ball Super Episode 96, broadcast on 25 June 2017 on Fuji TV, as a member of the Universe 9 team.
Biography
Oregano blows threads from the palms of his hands to restrain his opponents. In the Tournament of Power, he is dropped out of bounds with a blow from Vegeta.[1]
Tournament of Power
Name
Oregano's name is likely derived from Oregano (オレガノ), a flowering plant in the mint family. Its leaves are harvested and dried for use as a culinary herb. The character name is taken directly from the katakana used to write "oregano" in Japanese.[2]
Performance
Oregano is voiced by Yasunori Masutani, who has voiced minor roles dating back to Dragon Ball GT. In the Tournament of Power, Masutani also gives his voice to Huwa and Rou, the Kaiōshin of Universe 6 and Universe 9 respectively. In the FUNimation dub, Oregano is voiced by Christopher Wehkamp, who previously voiced several minor roles in Dragon Ball Z Kai. In the Tournament of Power, Wehkamp also voices Majora of Universe 4.
