WorldScreen.com reports that Toei Animation has secured a new “master licensing and merchandising” deal with Brazil’s Abr-Art Bag Rio Comercio Importacao e Exportacao:

The terms of the agreement include key consumer product categories such as polyester backpacks, pencil cases, lunch bags and aprons for children. Latin America has become a top region to launch Toei Animation brands, the company says.

“Abr-Art ranks among the top manufacturers in the important Brazilian market and we are pleased to forge an alliance with the company on behalf of Dragon Ball,” said Kenji Ebato, the executive VP and general manager for Toei Animation. “Locally produced products are important in order to maximize success in Brazil, however we are also focused on manufacturing quality products—and this is why we are excited to team with Abr-Art.”

Back in May 2010, Toei announced a deal with Algazarra for toy figurines and a separate deal with Richtex for a line of towels. What kind of stuff have you Brazilian fans been picking up for merchandise over these last couple years, and is there anything in particular you are looking forward to? Let us know!
