The official website for the multi-series Jump crossover fighting game, Project Versus J, recently updated with an indication that a new battle is on the way.
次回, 新たなJ戦士参戦!?
Next Time: A New Jump Hero Will Participate in the Battle?!
What will we see announced for the game? More characters? More series? We will keep an eye on their countdown, which is set for 10 days right now. That, of course, perfectly ties in with a release of Weekly Shōnen Jump in Japan two issues from now (WJ 2013 #18).
It has been about three months since the last significant update on the game, which was the announcement that it will be coming to both the PlayStation 3 and Vita in Japan — perhaps not coincidentally, details on the platforms were spoiled via leaked Jump pages ahead of the scheduled website update on December 17th. A two-part “Dream 9 Super Collaboration Special” is set to air 07 April 2013 with the three series that happen to be currently-announced for the game (Toriko, One Piece, and Dragon Ball Z), but there has been no indication that the game and special are related or will even be used to complement each other in any way.
Thanks to Super Saiyan Prime for the heads-up.

I’m guessing it’s either going to be Naruto (new hotness) or Jotaro Kujo (old new hotness). I’m drawing a blank on a more relevant current Jump protagonist than Naruto (though my heart wants Ichigo Kurosaki!).
Well that’s obviously the Goku model/face texture from the Spike games, so I wonder if they’re behind this crossover title?
I’m hoping Gon (HxH) makes the cut.
Even with Bleach’s ‘fall’ in popularity, I’m sure it’ll still be a lock to be in this game. I’d honestly be surprised if it wasn’t. What I’d really, really love would be for there to be some I”s presence again like there was (vaguely anyway) in the last DS game, but that’s doubtful. We don’t even know if this game will have support characters, and that’s the only way that universe works in something like this.
