Two “Anime Comics” releases are due out this week (specifically Friday, 04 October 2013) from Shueisha: one for the new film Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, and a re-release of the one for DBZ Movie 8 (the first Broli movie).
We tend not to see cover art for these types of releases until the same week they are due out, and these two were no exception to the rule as Shueisha’s online listings have both finally updated with said cover art:
The film versions of the comics are sometimes called “animanga”; screen shots from the movie have dialog bubbles added in to contain text, with the film then presented in printed comic form. The most recent release (back in 2010) was an anime comic for the 2008 Jump Super Anime Tour special.
The Battle of Gods comic will retail for ¥1,400 (tax included), while the DBZ Movie 8 comic re-release will retail for ¥700 (tax included). Both are available for pre-order via CDJapan and Amazon Japan.

Interesting that they used a cover for BOG’s that isn’t the movie poster. (For some reason I was expecting the movie poster again even though I feel like other animanga for DB have had non-poster covers).
It could just be how it’s framed, but even though they’re supposed to be looking at each other, Beers actually looks a little bigger (closer to the viewer) than Goku, making it kind of look like he’s looking over his shoulder rather than at him. ❓ I could be wrong.
Interesting that they chose to re-release movie 8’s animanga; maybe they’re curious to see if more people prefer BOG to Brolli or vise versa as a test for if they should bring Brolli back (for a 4th time please no he ran his course imo) or if they should continue things the way they did with BOG–i.e, having a more Toriyama-ish approach than Toei-ish.
