Phew! What a weekend. We’re all back up here in New Jersey after spending some good time down there in Georgia for Anime Weekend Atlanta. Many stories to be told, many new AMVs to premier… but all in good time. Until then, enjoy this:

Yep. That’s a new Kuririn figure I picked up. There was a Chibi Goku that goes along with him, but I only picked up the one. He’s about eight inches tall.

Oh, right. The podcast! Yep, Meri and I recorded this little guy last week before the convention. Like we say during the episode, it’s pretty much just us “geeking-out” for a bit, going back and forth between our top five… uhh… well, if you want to explain it in a nutshell, it’s something like “unfinished grudge matches we want to see concluded”… or something like that. Definitely check it out.

SHOW DESCRIPTION:
Episode #0095! VegettoEX and Meri go over their own top five “grudge matches that may or may not have actually had some sort of physical beginning but we would like to see concluded in some sort of physical fashion”… or something like that. We “geek-out” for a bit going down the list, reminiscing about great character interactions that really need to play out to the fullest.

Episode #0094 of the podcast is available for download! This week, Meri and I took a look at the “Dragon Ball Collector” segment that can be found within the October 2007 of the domestic Shonen Jump. Tune in for our thoughts on its content, including a brief interview with Akira Toriyama, their translation of Neko Majin Z 5, various bits of information, and a whole lot more. Per the norm, you’ve also got this month’s releases, some e-mails, and just a whole lot of fun. Julian checks in from Japan, again, too! Definitely check it out.

IGN has a new “video diary” up that includes some info on the upcoming “Budokai Tenkaichi 3” from Tsuyoshi Hirana (Game Planner, Spike) and Eddie Nagura (Production Selection – Bandai Namco). The video is a little over two minutes long, so definitely check it out if you are at all interested in the game. There is an older “Video Diary” on the page from August 30th if you missed it, too.

Episode #0093 of the podcast is available for download! We took a look at volume eight of the manga this week, essentially bringing the Red Ribbon Army arc to an end. The collective opinion seems to be that Toriyama finally figured out where he wanted to take the story, and when he’s confident, it turns out really well. Good stuff! All the big news from the week (see all the updates below) are reviewed, September’s releases are gone over, some e-mails are read, and all sorts of general fun is had. Definitely check it out.

FUNimation’s official Dragon Ball Z website has a poll up for you to select some of your favorite fights from the show. It seems to indicate that some type of bonus material will be included if you purchase (pre-order?) the domestic release of “Budokai Tenkaichi 3” from GameStop.

Will it be a bonus DVD sorta like the “Behind the Screams” feature that came with the “Limited Edition” version of “Budokai 3” a few years back? Possibly — I guess we will just have to wait and see.

The mis-spellings of their own names is pretty hilarious.

Check this out — Target has listed one of the upcoming “Koro-chan Pack” discs (well, “Colo-chan”) for purchase:

Pretty interesting stuff. They say it will be available 01 October 2007; keep in mind that both the DB and DBZ “Koro-chan Pack” CDs will be available over in Japan pretty soon on 19 September 2007.

You have probably already read it elsewhere, but it would behoove us to update with the information, as well. Via IGN (and note the update to their own report at the end):

September 4, 2007 – It looks like 20th Century Fox is rushing the long-awaited live-action movie adaptation of Dragon Ball Z into production before the looming industry strikes happen next year.

According to the Montreal Gazette, Dragon Ball Z will shoot in Montreal sometime in the coming year; while an exact start date isn’t known yet, the paper reports that production is expected to be completed by next July.

Dragon Ball Z is based on the manga by Akira Toriyama, which also beget an anime series of the same name. There’s no word yet on who will write or direct the picture.

UPDATED: 20th Century Fox has informed IGN that this report cannot be confirmed as neither start dates nor locations are locked in at this point.

Huh. Basically, IGN grabbed the same news that everyone else did from the Montreal Gazette, and then Fox got back with them and said something to the effect of, “Well, we have it, but let’s not actually go ahead and confirm anything about the movie.”

So basically… we are in the same position we were in back in 2002. Great.
