Kanzenshuu – The Podcast

Your one and only Dragon Ball podcast!

Our “weekly” podcast, then named Daizenshuu EX – The Podcast, began in November 2005 as a new way to reach out to our audience, extend that audience, and simply have fun with the franchise we love so much. Though we updated the name to Kanzenshuu – The Podcast in April 2012 with the launch of this website, we remain the best, most authoritative, entertaining, and only Dragon Ball podcast you will ever need!

Each episode, the Kanzenshuu staff discuss the latest news in the world of Dragon Ball from across the globe before heading into a core topic — whether it be an in-depth discussion of the way in which the story and franchise was produced, theories for in-universe scenarios and “What If?” scenes, interviews with those actually involved with the franchise, thorough reviews of video games or home video releases, we have you covered! We wrap things up with the month’s upcoming releases, questions from the listeners, and much more! We regularly have contests, broadcast live (watch our Twitter and Facebook!), and have a great time sharing our love of the Dragon Ball franchise with you all each and every week.

Podcast Episode #0098 — 14 October 2007

Episode #0098 of the podcast is available for download! Since we were at a convention last week, we had about two weeks worth of news to catch up on, including some pretty interesting dirt on video games, companies, movies, etc. We indeed get through volume nine of the so-called “Manga Review of Awesomeness”…! Like we state during the episode, the series is certainly at a transitional point, and I can’t wait to continue onwards. October’s releases, some e-mails, and a whole bunch of other stuff can be found within! Definitely check it out.

Podcast Episode #0097 — 07 October 2007

Episode #0097 of the podcast is available for download! We did a day-trip up for MangaNEXT yesterday to hang out with friends and do a couple panels. In the early afternoon, we did a panel entitled DragonBall Manga: A History. This episode is basically that panel! Be sure to check the handout we gave to all attendees, and it will almost be like you were actually there…! Unless you were actually there, in which case it’ll be a major case of deja vu. Regardless, we hope you enjoy the episode! Definitely check it out.

SHOW DESCRIPTION:
Episode #0097! VegettoEX and Meri record live from MangaNEXT 2007. During our panel (“DragonBall Manga: A History”), we discussed every release of DB manga from Japan and the US, along with interesting bits about specific censoring episodes the Viz translation has gone through over the years. Some brief talks about DB crossover manga, some parodies, and the future of the manga close out the episode.

Podcast Episode #0096 — 30 September 2007

Episode #0096 of the podcast is available for download! In addition to finally getting to catch up with Julian during a normal recording, we also had some minor audio equipment explosions that put our regular plans to a very quick halt :P. No matter! We chug on into the future with an episode! Prompted by a listener e-mail, we had a little discussion about DragonBall GT’s importance and relevance to fandom as a whole. Should we “acknowledge” it? Simply tolerate it? Or something else entirely? You’ll also hear a little recap of AWA, some of October’s bigger releases, some additional e-mails, and a whole lot more. Definitely check it out.

SHOW DESCRIPTION:
Episode #0096! VegettoEX and Meri finally get a chance to check in with Julian over in Japan, but some audio equipment explodes, so we have to cut that conversation a little short. We discuss GT’s importance in DB fandom. Should it be acknowledged? Enjoyed? Ignored? Tolerated? AWA review, October’s releases, and some more e-mails round out the episode. See you next week at MangaNEXT!

Podcast Episode #0095 — 23 September 2007

Phew! What a weekend. We’re all back up here in New Jersey after spending some good time down there in Georgia for Anime Weekend Atlanta. Many stories to be told, many new AMVs to premier… but all in good time. Until then, enjoy this:

Yep. That’s a new Kuririn figure I picked up. There was a Chibi Goku that goes along with him, but I only picked up the one. He’s about eight inches tall.

Oh, right. The podcast! Yep, Meri and I recorded this little guy last week before the convention. Like we say during the episode, it’s pretty much just us “geeking-out” for a bit, going back and forth between our top five… uhh… well, if you want to explain it in a nutshell, it’s something like “unfinished grudge matches we want to see concluded”… or something like that. Definitely check it out.

SHOW DESCRIPTION:
Episode #0095! VegettoEX and Meri go over their own top five “grudge matches that may or may not have actually had some sort of physical beginning but we would like to see concluded in some sort of physical fashion”… or something like that. We “geek-out” for a bit going down the list, reminiscing about great character interactions that really need to play out to the fullest.

Episode #0094 of the podcast is available for download! This week, Meri and I took a look at the “Dragon Ball Collector” segment that can be found within the October 2007 of the domestic Shonen Jump. Tune in for our thoughts on its content, including a brief interview with Akira Toriyama, their translation of Neko Majin Z 5, various bits of information, and a whole lot more. Per the norm, you’ve also got this month’s releases, some e-mails, and just a whole lot of fun. Julian checks in from Japan, again, too! Definitely check it out.

From an interview with Akira Toriyama, to a translation of “Neko Majin Z 5”, to a whole bunch of both relevant and entirely irrelevant information, what was the purpose of this seemingly major production? Video game news, September’s releases, and your e-mails round out the episode. See you next week at AWA!

Podcast Episode #0093 — 09 September 2007

Episode #0093 of the podcast is available for download! We took a look at volume eight of the manga this week, essentially bringing the Red Ribbon Army arc to an end. The collective opinion seems to be that Toriyama finally figured out where he wanted to take the story, and when he’s confident, it turns out really well. Good stuff! All the big news from the week (see all the updates below) are reviewed, September’s releases are gone over, some e-mails are read, and all sorts of general fun is had. Definitely check it out.

Podcast Episode #0092 — 03 September 2007

Episode #0092 of the podcast is finally available for download! And it has a special bonus video to go along with it! We’re hitting you back once again with another discussion about an inconsistency between the manga and the TV series. This time around, it’s all about Cargo! You know Cargo… No, really… You do. He’s Dende’s little brother. He’s around for a couple panels, and then he’s dead. Good stuff. In addition to the topic, we also went over some pretty huge news (which you already know about since you read this home page ^_~), September’s ridiculous amount of releases, and hit up a few e-mail questions all related to AMVs. Definitely check it out.

SHOW DESCRIPTION:
Episode #0092! VegettoEX and Meri debut the next inconsistencies discussion with the death of Cargo. While he was killed by Freeza in the manga, his killer was changed to Dodoria for the TV series. Why was this change made? Gigantic live-action movie news, video game news, music news, September’s releases, and an AMV-themed collection of e-mails round out the episode. Julian is off to Japan!

Podcast Episode #0091 — 26 August 2007

Episode #0091 of the podcast is available for download! I know… three updates in one day?! That’s unpossible! But here it is, believe it or not. This week, we went in-depth with the ending to DragonBall GT. The two big questions that were asked and discussed were: (1) Did Goku die?, and (2) Where did Goku go? / What did Goku become? As Meri mentioned during the episode, this is perhaps the “deepest” you can go with the DragonBall series, so if you’ve been looking to wax philosophical for a while, this doozy of a conversation is probably right up your alley.

SHOW DESCRIPTION:
Episode #0091! VegettoEX, Meri, and Julian follow up with a couple more song homages regarding last week’s topic, and then move into this week’s DBGT ending analysis. The two big questions in every fan’s mind seem to be: (1) Did Goku die? and (2) Where did he go / What did he become? We’ll take you through this conversation and hopefully bring up some points you may have never noticed. August’s releases and some more video game e-mails round out the episode!

Podcast Episode #0090 — 19 August 2007

Episode #0090 of the podcast is available for download! The confirmation of Chi-Chi in the game was obviously put up on the site after the episode had been recorded, but since you’re reading this, you’re certainly all up-to-date, anyway… and that’s what’s really important. Beyond talking about a bit of Sparking! METEOR news, the main meat of the episode was discussing how some DragonBall songs either pay a little homage to, on in the case of one particular song, outright copy pretty much the entire song. Curious as to what we’re talking about? Well, just tune in and listen for yourself. Lots of other great stuff is in the show, including some pretty in-depth e-mail responses. Definitely check it out.

SHOW DESCRIPTION:

Episode #0089 of the podcast is available for download! Boy, do I need to get some sleep. In the meantime, the episode this week is indeed volume seven of the so-called “Manga Review of Awesomeness”…! SHOW DESCRIPTION:
Episode #0089! VegettoEX, Meri, Julian, and Jeff dive into volume seven of the “Manga Review of Awesomeness.” It seems to have picked up a bit from the last volume, but has Toriyama alienated some up-and-coming fans with a step backwards in humor and story-telling?
