Summary

Prologue

Oolong takes the wheel, flying Bulma and Goku westward to find the last Dragon Ball. It is a desert land of giant mushrooms, and Goku finds the scenery strange. Bulma asks Oolong whether there is a town nearby, but he does not know; he has never been this way before. He does know that they are getting low on fuel, though. Bulma complains, saying she told him to fill up at the last stop, but Oolong remembers it differently; she was the one who said they did not need to. She hits him on the head, and Oolong struggles to maintain control of the hovercraft as they fight. Yamcha and Pu'er follow close behind them; Yamcha is excited to find the last ball and he tells Pu'er, who is at the wheel, to keep a close eye on them. Pu'er eagerly reassures him. As Yamcha listens to Bulma's still-raging fight with Oolong, he thinks to himself that she has a pretty voice, and Pu'er wonders what aloud what he is doing, so Yamcha blushes and tries to defend himself, only to end up embarrassing himself further, foaming at the mouth. Pu'er offers him a canteen of water. Yamcha drinks, and tells Pu'er to proceed with caution. Pu'er is flummoxed, but continues to follow the others closely.

Part A

Stitched pan of the village where Goku and co. encounter the Rabbit Gang and the Carrotizor.

Oolong pulls into a small town and Bulma celebrates their luck; now they can fill up on gas. When the villagers spot the tourists, they cower in fear, and one woman runs screaming. Goku wonders what is going on. They land at a gas pump, and the attendant begins to greet them, and then freezes in fear. When Bulma gets out of the car, his fear grows, and Goku again tries to make sense of what is happening. He yells at Bulma, informing her that the people in this town are afraid of her. She does not know what he is talking about, and tells him to wait there while she goes to buy some things. As she walks away, the attendant yells and hides behind the gas pump.

Bulma ignores all this and walks into the town, looking around for a place that might sell Hoi Poi capsules. Several villagers run away when they see her, and Bulma realizes that Goku was right. She figures that beautiful girls must be rare around here. Eventually, she spots a capsule shop. Back at the gas pump, the attendant has finished filling up their tank. Oolong tells him he will have to wait for the money because Bulma has it, but he insists that there is no need to pay. Oolong and Goku smile at each other. In the capsule shop, Bulma complains about their selection, and the shopkeeper apologizes. She picks out five capsules; the shopkeeper presents them on a silver platter, but she asks him to number them and put them in a case, and also how much? He insists that there is no need to pay. She walks out of the store, celebrating her deal; the house capsule alone would be half a million Zenni. Again, she takes it as a perk of being beautiful, and sets about finding some new clothes.

The Rabbit Gang goons flirt with Bulma.

Near the gas station, a car pulls into town. Yamcha and Pu'er watch from a hidden location and Yamcha figures Bulma has gone somewhere. Meanwhile, two men emerge from the car, walking into the town. One stocky, one lean, they are heavily armed and wear bunny ears on their heads, just like Bulma. They complain to each other that this town is boring, and there are never any beautiful women here. In the clothes shop, Bulma emerges from a dressing room wearing local-style clothing, the bunny ears still on her head. She complains about their limited selection, but she concedes that it is better than the bunny-girl outfit. As she checks her reflection, she notices that she is still wearing the bunny ears. Taking them off, she tells the shopkeeper he can have them, placing them on his head, and asks him how much money she owes him. He asks her if she is not a member of the Rabbit Gang; she asks him what that is, and he kicks her out of the store, yelling at her for wearing misleading head accessories.

As Bulma walks back toward the gas station, she notices that no one seems to be afraid of her anymore, and wonders what the deal was with the bunny ears. Yamcha notes her return, and Bulma returns to the car with her loot. Goku asks her if she got any food, and she hands him a paper bag. Oolong complains that she took so long. Meanwhile, the Rabbit Gang members harass a fruit merchant. The stocky one helps himself to an apple, spitting out the first bite and kicking over the bin. He complains about the taste while the lean Gangster threatens the fruit merchant. Goku and the others notice the commotion; Bulma wonders who they are, and Oolong thinks they are low-class jerks. The Rabbit Gang duo moves on from the fruit merchant, and a small child crosses their path to join his mother. The Gang members stop and the lean one threatens the boy for crossing their path. The mother begs them to forgive him since he is just a child, but the Gangster tells her there are no excuses, and he kicks both of them over while Goku and the others watch.

Goku is ready to fight the Rabbit Gang.

Goku munches on a sandwich while Oolong observes that these guys are crazy. Bulma realizes aloud that they are wearing rabbit ears. When she speaks, the stocky Gangster hears her voice and turns around. He calls his partner to her attention, and they feast their eyes on the new girl in town. They approach her, asking if she would like to hang out with them, but she makes her disdain clear. They are surprised that she does not know who they are. Bulma tells them that now she understands why everyone was running away from her earlier, and they are smug about this, but Bulma just gets into the car, telling them she does not have time to hang out with them. (Oolong seems smug about this.) The lean Gangster pulls his gun on her, asking her if she wants to die young. Bulma and Oolong look at the Gangsters worriedly, while Goku munches on his sandwich. Bulma tells Goku that these are bad guys and he should beat them up. Goku munches, and tells her okay. Oolong points out that they have guns, and the Gangsters seem amused that he intends to fight them. The lean one tells him to go home and wet his bed. Goku pops the last bit of sandwich in his mouth and grins.

The Gangsters are riled up now, but Goku charges fast, knocking out the lean one with three quick blows. The stocky one points his gun at Goku, but Goku flips over his back and stabs him in the rear end with Nyoi-bō. The villagers are all amazed, and Goku walks back to the car, happy that he got to fight someone after so long. Bulma compliments his work and suggests they get going. Oolong thinks Goku is a barbarian. Yamcha laughs at the Gangsters from the sidelines; they did not know what they were getting themselves into. The stocky Gangster gets up, promising that Goku will pay for humiliating them. Bulma wonders what he is saying, but she is ready to go and does not care that much. But the stocky Gangster uses his walkie-talkie to contact his boss, asking him to come to town and take care of a really strong guy for them, and when the villagers hear this, they run screaming. One of them stops by the car to shame them for bringing this on their village. Bulma and the others watch as the entire village hides indoors. They look around at the ghost town in confusion, and Oolong wonders aloud what is going on.

Part B

Goku tries to imagine being turned into a carrot.

Goku and Bulma look around in confusion, and Oolong has a bad feeling about this. Bulma is peeved that they did not even get a thank-you for taking care of the Rabbit Gang. Meanwhile, the stocky Gangster helps the lean one get to his feet, assuring him that he already called the boss. Bulma asks them who the boss is, and they laugh, promising their boss will turn them into a carrot and eat them. Yamcha and Pu'er exchange a glance, and Goku tries to imagine being turned into a carrot. Oolong encourages them to scram; Goku says they have no reason to run because they did not do anything wrong, and Bulma agrees.

The Carrotizor and his car.

Just then, a rabbitmobile rolls into town. The Gangsters celebrate the arrival of their boss, and the Carrotizor steps out of the rabbitmobile. The Gangsters rush to his side, and he tells them to stop whining and show him who defied the Rabbit Gang. They point at Goku and the others. Bulma and Oolong are not impressed with the boss, but the Gangsters warn them not to underestimate him. Meanwhile, Yamcha thinks he has seen this guy before. The boss cannot believe his goons were beaten by children, and they apologize for disgracing him, but he hops over to the gas station, offering to shake hands with Bulma. Goku is happy that he wants to be friends, but just then, Yamcha remembers: this is Usagi Ninjinka ("Rabbit Carrot Transformer"). Yamcha tries to warn Bulma not to touch him, but his voice is strained, and Bulma slaps the Carrotizor's hand away, while Yamcha strangles. Bulma asks who would ever shake hands with him, sticking her tongue out at him. But she touched him, so he promptly turns her into a carrot.

The Carrotizor chases Pu'er.

Goku and Oolong panic while the Rabbit Gang laughs. Now, Yamcha remembers that the Carrotizor turns everyone he touches into a carrot. Angry, Goku jumps down from the car to confront the Carrotizor, who reminds him that if he touches him, he'll be turned into a carrot. Goku is frustrated, but Oolong suggests he use his Nyoi-bō. Goku happily takes this advice, but the Carrotizor stops him, threatening to eat the carrot. The Gang laughs, and Goku does not know what to do, and asks Oolong if he has any ideas. Oolong's idea is to take the car and hightail it out of the village, much to Goku's annoyance. The Carrotizor orders the Gangsters to attack Goku, who cannot fight back. As they beat him, Yamcha decides they have no choice but to help them if they want to get the Dragon Balls. He tells Pu'er to transform into a bird and steal the carrot. Pu'er obeys, and Yamcha hops up on the roof of the gas station to watch. The Carrotizor encourages his Gangsters to be ruthless, but then Pu'er steals the carrot.

Pu'er transforms into the Carrotizor.

After Bulma is safe, Yamcha jumps in to knock out the goons, telling Goku to hurry up and fight the Carrotizor with his Nyoi-bō. Goku asks what Yamcha is doing there, but Yamcha yells at him to hurry. The Carrotizor is hot on the tail of Pu'er. Eventually, Pu'er flies headlong into a giant mushroom, dropping the Bulma-carrot. Goku and Yamcha leap for it, but the Carrotizor does too. Yamcha tells Goku to be careful not to let the Carrotizor touch him, so Goku uses his Nyoi-bō to knock the carrot out of reach. He grabs it, and when they land, the Carrotizor realizes his fate is sealed. Then he realizes that the Pu'er bird is barely hanging on to consciousness at his feet, and he threatens to turn Pu'er into a carrot. Goku is frustrated to be held back from fighting again, but then Pu'er transforms again. Now there are two Carrotizors!

The real Carrotizor is terrified as Pu'er threatens to touch him, so Yamcha encourages Goku to attack with his Nyoi-bō. Goku thwacks him on the head and says he will spare the Carrotizor's life if he returns Bulma to normal. The Carrotizor asks Goku to give his word, and Goku tells him that he does not lie, so Bulma is restored. She asks what happened to her, and Goku tells her that Yamcha helped to rescue her. Bulma looks around for Yamcha and does not see him, and Goku wonders where he got off to. Yamcha and Pu'er are hiding behind a building again; Pu'er wonders if this is the right move, but Yamcha says he will pass out if he gets near the girl.

Two rabbits take a break from making bunny treats.

The villagers watch in amazement as Goku ties up the Carrotizor and the Rabbit Gang. Bulma chastises Oolong for running off, but in his defense, he points out that he did come back. Bulma said that was just because he does not have any money. Oolong says they should have left her as a carrot. Having finished restraining the Rabbit Gang, Goku dusts off his hands and takes out his Nyoi-bō, wondering what he should do with them. They beg him to be gentle with them. He sticks the Nyoi-bō into the ground, grabs the Gang, and tells the Nyoi-bō to extend. Up and up they go as the villagers cheer. One of them thanks Bulma, and she implies he should have realized how awesome they were earlier.

The Rabbit Gang's new gig.

Goku returns, and Bulma asks him where they went. Goku tells her that rabbits belong on the moon. Bulma looks up, imagining their fate with something like horror. On the moon, a pair of rabbits watch while the Rabbit Gang takes over the work of making bunny treats.
