Quitela is a fictional character in the Japanese animated television series Dragon Ball Super and its companion manga series written by Toyotarō. Quitela makes his debut in Dragon Ball Super Episode 78, broadcast on 12 February 2017 on Fuji TV, as the God of Destruction of Universe Four.
Biography
Quitela is a God of Destruction who enjoys destroying on a whim. He specializes in cowardly tricks, such as sending spies to other universes.[2]
Zen Exhibition Match

When the Great Priest informs the gods of each universe about the upcoming Tournament of Power, he invites them to attend the Zen Exhibition Match to sate the curiosity of the Omni-King from the future, who has never seen a martial arts tournament. The Great Priest creates an arena in a void that appears to be located beneath the Omni-King's palace, and then brings in the gods from all the other universes to observe the match. Quitela is in attendance with Kur and Conic, the Kaiōshin and Angel of Universe 4.[3]
Recruitment
Champa calls a video meeting of all the Gods of Destruction from his location in the Universe 6 Kaiōshin Realm. He tells them that the Kaiōshin have just had a meeting, and asks the other Gods of Destruction whether they are planning anything shady for the Tournament of Power. Rumoosh scoffs, and Helles says they would never do anything so ugly. Sidra seems angry, Vermoud laughs, and Quitela says that of course they will not cheat; if the Omni-Kings were to find out, they would be erased. With Camparri interpreting, Mosco asks why they have not invited Beerus, and Helles seconds his question. Champa does not want to answer, but Quitela surmises that Beerus was not invited because Son Goku is from his universe, and the tournament was his idea.
Vados reminds everyone that they are in Goku's debt; if he had not proposed the tournament, then all of their universes would have been erased; Goku has given them a chance to survive. Sidra is unconvinced; watching Goku at the Zen Exhibition Match irritated him greatly. Rumoosh agrees; Goku's irreverence with the Omni-Kings was unforgivable. Even still, Helles finds Goku to be very attractive. Vermoud laughs again; he believes that Universe 7 is no match for the warriors of Universe 11, like the Pride Troopers and their leader Toppo.[4]

Quitela sends spies to all the universes. In Universe 7, Ganos spies on Goku and gang at Capsule Corporation while they discuss resurrecting Freeza to fight on their team. Ganos reports their plans to Quitela, who thinks Beerus must be desperate to be recruiting a dead man. Ganos says he is strong and could pose a problem for them. Kur is distressed to learn that Quitela has sent spies to other universes; what if the Omni-Kings were to find out? Quitela tells him to relax; there is no rule against it. He asks Ganos what this dead guy is called; Ganos tells him his name is Freeza. Ganos again warns against underestimating Universe 7. Kur asks Quitela what they can do to counter them; as it happens, Quitela has just thought of a great plan. He prays Beerus forgive him, but Beerus has to go.[5]
Quitela contacts Sidra with a crystal ball and tells him that Universe 7 plans to go after Universe 9 first in the Tournament of Power. This angers Sidra, so Quitela tells him about Freeza and suggests that if they take him out before he can join the team, it will cause Universe 7 to be disqualified. Sidra worries that the Omni-Kings will find out; Quitela says they only have to avoid getting directly involved, and suggests Sidra use hitmen from his universe. Quitela says he will see Sidra at the Tournament of Power, sans Universe 7. Quitela asks Kur if he is satisfied, and Kur is impressed with Quitela's scheme, though he wonders if Sidra will actually do it. Quitela is sure he will.[6]
Tournament of Power
Name
Quitela's name is adapted from the transliteration of tequila (テキーラ/tekiira), a distilled beverage made from the blue agave plant specific to Jalisco, Mexico. Quitela's name pun follows the theme of Gods of Destruction and Angels being named after alcoholic beverages.[7]
Performance
Quitela is voiced by Yūsuke Numata who has played several roles in various Dragon Ball series over the years, from the brothers Idose and Ikasa in Dragon Ball Z, to Baby in Dragon Ball GT, to Gregory in Dragon Ball Kai. In the Tournament of Power, Numata also gives his voice to Kettle of Universe Eleven's Pride Troopers and Koitsukai of Universe Three. In the FUNimation dub, Quitela is voiced by Meli Grant in her first role for the Dragon Ball franchise.
