Via the company’s official Facebook page, Panini Comics has announced a forthcoming Portuguese release of Jaco the Galactic Patrolman in Brazil. The company is planning a 2017 release date, with the possibility of an earlier release and a promise to keep fans informed of any schedule changes.

The company recently completed the 42-volume run of the Dragon Ball manga, following up on a complete 42-volume run and incomplete kanzenban run by Conrad.

Jaco the Galactic Patrolman was an 11-chapter manga series by Akira Toriyama that ran from the 2013 #33–44 issues of Weekly Shōnen Jump in Japan, and also saw a simultaneous digital release in English by Viz. A bonus chapter — Dragon Ball Minus — was included in the series’ collected edition. Viz released their English-language collected edition of the series in January 2015. Carlsen released their German translation of the series earlier this year.

The character of Jaco has since gone on to appear in the 2015 theatrical film Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’ as well as the on-going Dragon Ball Super TV series.

Nakao was selected for his performance as Freeza in the 2015 theatrical film Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’ alongside Etsuko Kozakura in the 2015 theatrical Yo-Kai Watch film. In his acceptance speech, Nakao explained:

I’ve been doing this work for nearly 60 years, since I was five, but this is the first time I’ve received such a wonderful award. A long time ago, I did some human voices as well, but these days, I don’t any more. (laughs) As long as my voice holds up, I’d like to keep working as a voice actor.

The event’s highest honor — the “Diamond Award” — was presented to Go Nagai for his ongoing commitment to the medium.

Bandai Namco has released a new fifteen-second commercial for their upcoming Nintendo 3DS game, Dragon Ball Fusions:

The commercial urges the player toward, “… an encounter with super warriors never seen before,” where you will search and collect, though the adventure does not just end there in this “dream fusion RPG!” The commercial ends with a tease of the first-pressing bonus material (an in-game download code for Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Son Goku, as well as a “Gohanks: EX” card for the Dragon Ball Heroes arcade game).

The character card list shown via in-game screens goes from the player’s avatar at “No.000” up through Jaco at “No.095” with the progress bar only roughly a quarter-way-scrolled. A subsequent screen asks players to “choose the second character” in a fusion tree showing conditions for the fusion, such as energy requirements, and other options.

Listings for the fourth, fifth, and sixth DVD and Blu-ray box sets for the Dragon Ball Super TV series have begun to surface on retailer websites.

  • The fourth set, due 04 October 2016, will cover episodes 37-48.
  • The fifth set, due 06 January 2017, will cover episodes 49-60.

The “Future Trunks Arc” of Dragon Ball Super is set to begin 12 June 2016.

The third DVD and Blu-ray box for the series (covering episodes 25-36) was delayed to 02 July 2016 from its original June release date.
