Episode Summary
Gohan struggles inside his pod, calling for Ozotto to let everyone go. Ozotto simply laughs, noting that Gohan has great power within him, but can’t use it; only when he lets that power loose will Ozotto enjoy eating him. Ozotto also absorbed these two others… and to show his intent and goal a little more clearly, Ozotto pops Goten’s head out of his respective pod just to prove he’s there, and begins hitting it to make Gohan angry. Ozotto fires a blast at Trunks’ pod, and then makes Videl appear from yet another pod. This finally makes Gohan angry enough, allow him to break free and punch Ozotto off into the distance.
Super Saiyan 4 Goku: Xeno catches his breath, saying his opponent was strong. A message comes in from Trunks over their communicator, asking if his father and Goku are okay — everyone seems to be fine. Trunks is relieved at this, but says that he cannot find the Kaiōshin of Time anywhere. He is heading back to the gate. Goku says that he and Vegeta should follow suit.
Gohan continues his attack against Ozotto, when the other Goku and Vegeta break their way inside. Both of them defeated their respective Ozotto already! They are surprised to find Gohan in here, since he’s been absorbed. Ozotto takes the opportunity to absorb Gohan again, increasing his power even more. Goku and Vegeta have a bad feeling about this, so Vegeta calls for Goku to hand over one of the Potara earrings he got from Chronoa earlier. Goku thanks Vegeta, but he says he’s only doing this for Bulma and Trunks. Ozotto is too caught up in relishing his new power, which he thinks may even surpass that of the gods… when he is greeted by Vegetto, who powers up to Super Saiyan Blue! Ozotto is shocked by this power, but before he can react, Vegetto is already on the offensive. Ozotto wonders if what he sees here is actually the power of a true god… which he wants to eat! Ozotto transforms into Gohan, but Vegetto handles him without any real effort. Ozotto tries to attack with his tail, but Vegetto still blocks every attack. Vegetto powers up and flies in with a series of punches and kicks, wrapping things up with his ki sword.
Gohan falls to the floor as Goku and Vegeta split back apart. Gohan wonders what they’re doing here, since this is inside Ozotto’s body!
Outside, the palace goops itself into a large, four-armed version of Ozotto…
The Time Patrol versions of Goku, Vegeta, and Trunks gather together in a strange new room, wondering what this place is. More enemies approach them — Tullece, Freeza, Baby, Cell, Coola, and Bojack — but the Kaiōshin of Time is still nowhere to be seen.
Episode Notes
Manga vs. Anime Differences
-
Though the rough underlying story beats are largely the same between the two media, the Meteor Mission! manga series by Yoshitaka Nagayama includes a wealth of additional details and character appearances beyond what is seen here in the promotional anime. Of note, Ozotto threatens Gohan with a clone of Piccolo in addition to both Videl and Pan being captured. Additionally, whereas Vegetto does receive a red glow in his attack against Ozotto in the promotional anime, he specifically calls out Kaiō-Ken in the manga version of events.
Episode Credits
All credits listed below are as originally presented in the promotional episode. Unlike all prior episodes of the promotional anime, this “Meteor Mission” run of episodes does not include any animation credits; instead, general credits are featured during the opening animation (primarily those of Bandai staff), while the end credits exclusively feature voice credits.
