Summary

Goku and Jiren face off. Meanwhile in the stands, Hit regrets underestimating Jiren, and Champa is still in shock over losing his ace. In the arena, Vegeta is also shocked, but Toppo and Dispo are not surprised; Jiren would not lose to tricks like Hit's Time-Skip and Time Lag. Toppo promises Vegeta that Goku will be next; it is a million years too soon for him to stand a chance against Jiren. Vegeta asks if he is the candidate for God of Destruction who defeated Goku at the Zen Exhibition Match. Toppo confirms, and asks Vegeta if he is the second-best fighter in Universe 7. This offends Vegeta, and he informs Toppo that he is the best, and not just in Universe 7. He powers up, transforming into "perfected" Super Saiyan Blue, and attacks, surprising Toppo and Dispo with his strength. After a few moments, Vegeta asks Toppo whether he still thinks Kakarrot is stronger, and Toppo tells him that while he is on par with Goku in terms of power, he still cannot defeat them. Vegeta says he will have to demonstrate further, then, and the fight resumes.

In the stands, Tenshinhan is happy to see that Vegeta is fighting evenly with Toppo. Kuririn asks how the rest of their friends are doing, and Shin points out that No. 17 is fighting Botamo of Universe 6. No. 17 is punching Botamo around, but Botamo tells him that this will not work on him. Piccolo quickly finishes his fight with Dyrasen of Universe 10, eliminating him, to tell No. 17 about Botamo's special power. He rushes to the scene, offering to help No. 17 throw Botamo out, but then No. 17 punches Botamo in the gut and runs, stretching Botamo's body in a thin U-shape. He keeps running until he reaches the edge where he finally lets go, allowing the momentum to propel Botamo off the edge. No. 17 asks Piccolo if he said something, and Piccolo tells him nevermind. Piccolo asks No. 17 what kind of training he has been doing, and No. 17 says he has just been protecting his island.

Meanwhile, Gohan pauses from his fight with Methiop of Universe 10 when he sees Dium carrying Napapa, also of Universe 10, to the place where Piccolo and No. 17 are talking. Gohan shouts out a warning just as Dium drops Napapa into their midst. Piccolo and No. 17 dodge, and Piccolo surmises that the sumo wrestlers in Napapa's universe must not know about dignity and honor. As Napapa and Piccolo fight, No. 17 expresses annoyance that Dium is still around and then shoots him down. He lands in between Napapa and Methiop. Piccolo, No. 17, and Gohan face the Universe 10 warriors, and No. 17 bids them goodbye, blasting all three out of the ring. When they appear in the stands, Rumoosh is frustrated, but Gowasu is impressed with Universe 7; Goku and Vegeta are not their only heavy hitters. Rumoosh tells him to stop admiring them; their universe only has three fighters left!

Mulithim, Zircor, and Obni—Universe 10's last three fighters—are surrounded by Piccolo, Gohan, and No. 17. Obni seems to realize that they are in trouble. In the stands, Shin suggests to Beerus that at this rate, they might actually win, but Beerus does not seem so confident. Meanwhile, No. 18 is attacked by Ribrianne, who calls her ugly and tells her to stand up. No. 18 looks around, but Ribrianne tells her not to play dumb; she is talking to her. Roasie theorizes that maybe No. 18 is not aware that ugly is the opposite of beautiful, and scoffs at the idea of someone like her facing the beautiful Ribrianne. Kakunsa tells No. 18 that she is one hundred—no, one thousand years too early for that. Roasie continues, praising Ribrianne's beauty and strength; Ribrianne says that this combination is true beauty. Kuririn wonders if Ribrianne is really considered to be beautiful in Universe 2, and Beerus tells him beauty standards are relative. He thinks Ribrianne is kinda cute. Beerus shouts at Helles, the beautiful God of Destruction of Universe 2, and points out that she must not be too hot in her own universe, but she insists that Ribrianne's planet is an exception.

No. 18 tells Ribrianne that beauty has nothing to do with strength, and she is about to demonstrate. Ribrianne says that where she comes from, they are one and the same; the most beautiful people are also the strongest. Ribrianne fires a Beauty Organic Spiral at No. 18, followed by a Perfect U.V. Cutter and an Anti-Aging Attack. No. 18 dodges the first two and blocks the third, frustrated that she has not found an opening to attack. Beerus is surprised that Ribrianne's silly attacks are so strong, and Peru, the Kaiōshin of Universe 2, praises her strength while admitting he does not understand her logic. Then, No. 18 is attacked by the other two Universe 2 warrior idols; they wrap their arms around her, along with some extra arms, while Ribrianne jumps up high to finish off No. 18 with a Miracle Cuticle Particle Recycle... but we never hear the full name of this mysterious attack.

Kuririn shouts out to the Universe 2 girls to stop playing dirty and let No. 18 go, catching the attention of Ribrianne, who drops back down to the arena and demands to know the identity of this beautiful man. No. 18 informs her that Kuririn is her husband, and asks if Ribrianne has a problem with that. Ribrianne cannot believe that such an ugly woman is married to such a fine man. Roasie is stunned by his bald head, his lack of nose, his pleasantly simple features. Kakunsa thinks he is beyond perfect. Whis informs Kuririn that he has a few new admirers, but he does not seem pleased about this. Meanwhile, Ribrianne throws a tantrum, and then attacks No. 18 with Damaged Hair Panic, and then Dry Skin Stress, but these attacks are weak and ineffective. Roasie realizes that Ribrianne's beauty is fading, and No. 18 breaks free from their grasp, firing a blast at all three.

No. 18 tells the warrior idols that they should just jump off the edge if they cannot fight any longer. Ribrianne says she cannot think of anything worse than being defeated by her, so she would rather take the plunge. She goes to the edge, and Roasie shouts after her, but No. 18 is happy enough with this conclusion. Beerus thanks "Kurin" for the part he played, and Kuririn corrects his mistake. Roasie and Kakunsa try to talk Ribrianne off the ledge, but No. 18 tells them they have five seconds to decide, or she will blast them off. She starts counting down, but just as she gets to "one", something hits her, knocking her over the edge. Everyone is shocked when she appears in the stands with her teammates, but then Kakunsa and Roasie are knocked off too.

Piccolo and the others pause their fight, and Gohan wonders if this is the invisible fighter (they had noticed earlier that Universe 4 only had eight fighters).[1] Kuririn asks No. 18 what happened, and she tells him it felt like she was kicked. Just then, Ribrianne is kicked too, knocked closer to the edge. She demands her opponent reveal himself, but then she is knocked over the edge. Quitela laughs, and Beerus calls him out for using dirty tricks like an invisible man, but Quitela says it is not against the rules. Zircor and Mulithim are eliminated as well, leaving Obni as the last remaining fighter for Universe 10. Gohan and No. 17 try to fight the invisible attacker while Piccolo looks around, trying to use his ears to locate their opponent. Finally, he pinpoints Gamisalas and blasts him out of the ring. Gamisalas apologizes to Quitela when he "appears" in the stands (still invisible), and Beerus mocks Quitela, telling him that invisibility is not worth much without power. Quitela tells him not to get cocky; they have another ace up their sleeve.

Indeed, Piccolo senses another invisible attacker approaching. He pinpoints its location and moves to counter their attack, but he misses somehow and is knocked out of the ring, shocking No. 17, Obni, and Gohan, who shouts after him in distress. In the stands, Piccolo tells Kuririn that he does not even know what happened, while Quitela laughs and Beerus seethes. No. 17 tells Gohan to stay on guard; this one is not like the other. They use all their senses, and Gohan shouts when the attacker is behind No. 17, but he is barely able to block the attack and is pushed toward the edge. Goku pauses his fight with Jiren and runs over to help. No. 17 explains that an invisible fighter is taking everyone out, and even Jiren seems surprised. Dispo recommends that they retreat until they figure out what is going on.

No. 17 tells Goku that Piccolo got one invisible fighter, but now there is another one, and this one is different. Goku says they can sense its ki at least, and No. 17 thinks that sounds like a useful skill. Goku is surprised that he cannot do it, asking how No. 17 found the poachers on his island. No. 17 explains that the noises give them away, and Goku thinks that sounds like a great idea for their current situation. No. 17 tucks his hair behind his ears and listens, finally pinpointing the location of their attacker. As it turns out, the attacker is not invisible at all; it is a tiny bug, too small to see. Damon tries to escape, but No. 17 zaps him, knocking him out of the arena, much to Quitela's distress.

Goku congratulates No. 17 for taking out so many of their opponents; there are not many of them left now. The Omni-Kings are having fun, and they ask the Great Priest how many are left, so he pulls up a roster to show them: three left in Universe 2, seven in Universe 3, four in Universe 4, six in Universe 6, six in Universe 7, one in Universe 10, and ten in Universe 11. The Omni-Kings are excited to see who will win. Thirty-three minutes remain in the Tournament of Power.

Continuity

The events of the manga and the anime diverge significantly. Below are the main differences, along with the episodes where the events of this chapter occur or contrast.

  • In both the anime and the manga, Toppo calls Vegeta Universe 7’s second best. In the anime, Vegeta gets angry, but ultimately does not deny it. In the manga, however, Vegeta not only denies it, but proclaims himself number one across all universes (a declaration that which might even contradict the character development the character went through back in Chapter 510 of the original manga).
  • In the anime, when he fought Goku back at the natural reserve,, No. 17 states that he has not just been twiddling his thumbs all this time. In this chapter, however, he admits to Piccolo that the only training he has been doing all this time has been protecting his island from poachers.
  • In the anime, Ribrianne, Kakunsa and Roasie display the ability to transform (in a very “magical girl”-like style) into their combat forms. In the manga, however, they appear in their combat forms from the start and are never shown transforming. It is not known whether they also possess more “normal”, human-like forms in the manga continuity.
  • Beerus admits in the manga that Ribrianne is kind of cute.
  • Seeing that Ribrianne, Kakunsa and Roasie’s beauty standards are completely different from normal, Beerus remarks to Helles that she, with her more traditional beauty, must not be considered all that beautiful in Universe 2. Helles retorts that it is only in the planet of those three warriors that beauty standards are… a little bit different.
  • In the anime, Ribrianne, Kakunsa and Roasie (as well as the rest of the Universe 2 team, but especially these three) seem to be more obsessed with the concept of love than that of beauty, with even Ribrianne’s attack names all revolving around the concept of love. In the manga, it is the exact opposite, with all of Ribrianne’s attack names revolving around the concept of beauty care.
  • In the manga, Roasie and Kakunsa can stretch their arms, in a way similar to that of Piccolo and Majin Boo.
  • In the manga, Ribrianne, Kakunsa and Roasie all think that Kuririn is extremely attractive, with Roasie even stating that, with his perfectly round head and lack of nose, he has the ultimate “simple” face. Kakunsa goes as far to say that he is the perfect handsome man. In the anime, however, the opinion is completely the opposite. Ribrianne specifically calls out Kuririn’s lack of a nose as one of the main reasons why he is not attractive.
  • In the anime, Roasie and Kakunsa are defeated by No. 17 and Ribrianne by No. 18. In the manga, however, they are all defeated by Gamisalas.
  • In the anime, Piccolo is defeated before No. 18 (though he is defeated in the exact same way in both versions). No. 18 chooses to sacrifice herself to save No. 17 in their battle against Agnilasa.
  • In the anime, the two Omni-Kings possessed a pair of “GodPads” where they kept track of the fighters that had been thrown out of bounds. In the manga, however, it is the Great Priest that keeps track of who lost, so they have to ask him to know what the current situation is.
