This is a full catalogue of Shunsuke Kikuchi's Dragon Ball background music (BGM) compositions.
The tracks are ordered according to their appearance in the series, movies, and disc releases, whichever comes first. The suite titles are official, but they are not individual piece titles: suites contain multiple BGM pieces, which have the same track number. When there is no official catalogue number, the K-number is substituted and links to the track's page. The K-numbers are assigned in a manner that should be roughly consistent with the official catalogue numbers, though the numbers are almost always different.
| BGM origin | Kanzenshuu Catalogue | Official Catalogue |
|---|---|---|
| 1986 TV series | K-X — K-1XX | AXX-JXX — M1XX |
| Dragon Ball Movie 1 | K-2XX | M2XX |
| 1987 TV series | K-3XX | M3XX |
| Dragon Ball Movie 2 | K-4XX | M4XX |
This catalogue is modeled after scholarly catalogues of the music of classical composers, such as the Köchel (K) catalogue for the works of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, or the Bach-Werke-Verzeichnis (BWV) catalogue for the works of Johann Sebastian Bach. Our catalogue is limited to Kikuchi's Dragon Ball works and should therefore be relatively straightforward. We have decided to use K for our Kikuchi catalogue, not only because it is the first consonant of the composer's family name, but also because the work for this catalogue was originally done by a fan called kenisu and then expanded at Kanzenshuu. The letter K was never used for official catalogue numbers.
Kikuchi Catalogue
Musical keys are given when possible, even if the piece ends on a dominant or other transitive tonality. When it is not possible to deduce the key, the final tonality is given in the form of a chord.
Uncertain Authorship
The below pieces are of uncertain authorship. Some of them may have been composed by Kikuchi, but most of them are probably stock music or perhaps musical sound effects from the Hidenori Arai library.
